Aaron Rai made an impression on his Masters debut and joined an elite group of golfers with a remarkable performance at Augusta
The 2025 Masters Tournament was Aaron Rai’s Augusta debut. The Englishman, who is known for wearing two gloves on the golf course, got off to a strong start and led by two shots at 4-under-par after eight holes. He finished up the day 2-under-par, which is a mean feat on it’s own, but that wasn’t the most impressive part of his round.
Rai’s remarkable driving accuracy was on full display during his Masters debut, where he hit every single one of Augusta National’s 14 fairways – an incredible achievement. Ranked number one in driving accuracy on the PGA Tour for the 2024 season, it’s no surprise that his precision off the tee made a statement.
It’s a rare feat, one that only two other golfers have achieved in their debut rounds at the Masters: Emilliano Grillo, who accomplished it in 2016, and Lee Hodges, who followed suit at last year’s tournament.

To join such an exclusive club on your first appearance at Augusta? Well, that’s a pretty bold way to introduce yourself to the world’s most famous golf course.
