What’s life really like when starting out on tour? This new golf docuseries is a must-watch
Last updated:

Trailblazing clothing brand TravisMathew have launched a series with DP World Tour hotshot Josh Berry.
Josh Berry burst onto the scene as an 18-year-old in 2023 when, while still an amateur, came through Q-School to became the second-youngest player to ever earn a DP World Tour card.
The other, you’ve probably guessed already, was a certain Rory McIlroy.
But that’s where the comparisons end. For now, at least.
Berry’s first season on the DP World Tour yielded just three made cuts from 17 starts. He returned to Q-School, where he shot a final-round 63 to finish 10th and retain his card for another year.
The 2025 season has, so far, been a mixed bag for the now 20-year-old, with three missed cuts offset by a first DP World Tour top 10. Berry’s €58,000 payday for his tied-7th at the Kenya Open was more than he’s banked for all his other tournaments combined.
Making it to the tour is tough. Staying there is even tougher.
And that’s the premise of a brand new docuseries, Making the Cut, produced by clothing brand TravisMathew. “This,” they say, “is is professional golf like you’ve never seen it before.”
Indeed, the first line of the four-part series – which will be released weekly on YouTube from Friday and follows the golfer’s rookie year as he battles to retain his card for another season – is Berry saying: “The process of getting my card was stressful.”
When discussing Making the Cut, he added: “You dream of playing on tour your whole life, but nothing really prepares you for the reality of it. One week, you’re playing against the best in the world, and the next, you’re wondering if you’ll even have a place to play next season.
“This series shows what life on tour is really like.”
Ben Howlett, head of marketing for TravisMathew EMEA, added: “Josh’s first year on the DP World Tour provides an authentic look into the true realities of Tour life for young players.
“This docuseries captures what professional golf is truly about – resilience, pressure, and the fight to succeed. It’s a remarkable story, with an extraordinary ending.”
You can watch the first episode of Making the Cut below, or on the TravisMathew Europe YouTube channel.
Episodes 2, 3 and 4 will be released on March 14, 21 and 28 respectively.
