Ryder Cup star Thorbjorn Olesen was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and being drunk on board an aircraft, according to a report from The Sun
The newspaper has reported that Thorbjorn Olesen, who was flying home to London following a T27 at the WGC FedEx St Jude Invitational, was arrested at Heathrow Airport after committing a series of offences on the BA flight from Nashville, Tennessee on Monday.
Olesen, who was travelling with Ian Poulter at the time in the first class cabin, is accused of molesting a woman and urinating in the aisle, as well as failing to comply with the orders of cabin crew.
According to a witness that spoke to The Sun, Olesen “started abusing some of the passengers and crew and then made a pass at one of the female passengers before taking a leak in the aisle.
“It was shocking behaviour. You would expect it maybe on a budget airline but not in the first-class cabin on BA.’’
The Sun also reported that Poulter’s agent Paul Dunkley told them the Englishman had tried calm down a ‘slightly intoxicated’ passenger, before sleeping through the rest of the flight.
“He then went to sleep and the first he knew of anything else was when the police were waiting at Heathrow,” added Dunkley.
Olesen’s representatives could not be reached for comment, but the Met Police have confirmed to the newspaper that a a 29-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, being drunk on board an aircraft and failing to comply with the orders of cabin crew, before being “released under investigation”.
