Bill Haas injured in fatal car crash near Riviera

Bill Haas was injured but is expected to make a full recovery after being involved in a fatal car crash in California on Tuesday evening which left the driver of the car Haas was in dead.
The six-time PGA Tour winner was the passenger in a Ferrari that collided with a BMW in the 500 block of North Chautauqua Boulevard just before 6.30pm, only a few miles from Riviera Country Club, which is host to the Genesis Open this week.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the driver of the Ferrari was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others—one of them the 35-year-old Haas, the other a 50-year-old female from the other vehicle—were taken to the hospital in reported serious condition.
Los Angeles Police Department Detective Jeff Fischer initially told television station KTLA that Haas was the passenger and was “doing OK.” He also told local media old that actor Luke Wilson was driving an SUV that was “clipped” by the Ferrari prior to the wreck, but there have been no reports of him sustaining any injury.
Since then, Golf Channel have reported that Haas has been released from hospital with no broken bones but does have some swelling in his legs. He is expected to make a full recovery.
