Ian Poulter’s company IJP Design to close

Ian Poulter has announced that IJP Design is to close following its failed restructuring attempts to survive in the current market.

The business was launched in 2007 but will close its doors on the 2nd April, citing the inability to justify its continuation.

“It has always been out aim to run a unique and high quality product business that reflected my personality and passion for the game of golf, and my love of fashion both on and off the course,” Poulter wrote on the website.

“Ultimately, however, we have been unable to justify its conitunation after many years of investing in the business and a number of attempts to reshape it against an ever increasingly competitive landscape.”

He then took to twitter to thank fans for their support of the company, hoping they would understand the decision to close the business.

“I’m sorry it will no longer be trading but I hope you understand our efforts in trying to restructure the business to make it work,” he tweeted with a picture of a note typed on his phone. “Unfortunately it has not been possible to continue in today’s market.”

The only silver lining for consumers on the sad day for the company is that there is still an opportunity to get products at a bargain price while the stocks last.

“For anyone wishing to grab some of the last items at a bargain please fill your boots,” Poulter tweeted. “I have done the same.”
