The face of both the Epic and Epic Sub Zero is made more efficient by Jailbreak Technology that focuses energy back into the golf ball.

The technology is made up of two ultra-light but incredibly strong titanium bars behind the face which run parallel to each other and joined on either end to the crown and sole.

In short, the tech reduces how much the crown and sole deflect, allowing the face to take on more of the load.

The idea being all of the above adds up to faster ball speeds across an increased area of the face, helping golfers achieve more distance and now you can visit your local retailer to try it for yourself.

If you are looking for a powerful, low-spinning Tour-level driver that is still perfectly suited to mere mortals, the Sub-Zero is worth trying out.

The name comes from the centre of gravity location – low and deep – which promotes a high launch angle and lower spin rates.

There are also two new fairway woods for 2017 which are in store today while the GBB Epic fairway woods don’t feature bars behind the face because it’s too shallow, they do feature a ultra-light crown moving weight to where it helps the most.

The GBB Epic fairway woods have an RRP of £279 and it is well worth giving them a try to see what best fits with your game, as there is a ton of loft options from a 14° 3-wood to 24° 9-wood.

Here is our Editor, Chris Jones, talking to Callaway’s Senior Vice President of Research & Development, Alan Hocknell about the GBB Epic Fairway woods.
