Could YOU be American Golf’s 2017 Long Drive Champion?

Think you can hit a long ball? This is your chance to see how you rank against the rest of the U.K – but you’ve got to be quick!

The qualifying rounds of the 2017 Long Drive Championship are being held from the 17th-20th February in every American Golf store, with free entry to all participants.

Split in to three categories – Ladies, Under 45 and Over 45 – the winners of each category will then progress to the regional finals, before competing for a place at the National Final in July.

Now in its third year, the event boasts successes such as the No.3 ranked lady in the world and an ability to attract thousands who have never competed at a long drive event before. 

Daniel Gathercole, the Director of Marketing and Communications at American Golf, explains the extent of the success of previous years. 

“Of the six category winners over the past two years, the American Golf Championship was the first ever Long Drive event for five of them,” he said

“We’ve had several drives in excess of 380 yards at last year’s final, but that was all from a pool of golfers who turned up in store and gave it their best”

“If you think you can hit the long ball then get in to store and see how you match up – you never know where it could take you”
