Sky Sports presenter and three-time European Tour winner Nick Dougherty has joined the Today’s Golfer team as a new columnist.
The popular golfer-turned broadcaster has been a regular presence on our TV screens since calling time on his 15-year playing career at the Dunhill Links Championship last October.
The 34-year-old has now agreed to write for Britain’s best-selling golf magazine on a monthly basis, starting with an emotional account of the highs and lows of competing on Tour.
“I am delighted to be working alongside the brilliant team at Today’s Golfer,” said Dougherty, who hosted The Masters breakfast show on Sky Sports.
“Penning a monthly column gives me the perfect opportunity to connect with amateur golfers and share my experiences, both inside and outside the ropes.
“I look forward to commenting on some of the hottest topics from the world of golf and offering my perspective on the technical and psychological side of the game.”
Chris Jones, editor of Today’s Golfer, reckons Dougherty will prove an instant hit with readers.
“We feel extremely privileged to have Nick on board,” said Jones. “He is one of the most likeable golfers around, and he has already proven to be opinionated and extremely knowledgeable on the professional and amateur game.
“I am sure our readers will all benefit from Nick’s valuable insight over the coming months.”
Dougherty’s first column will appear in the June issue of Today’s Golfer, which goes on sale April 13, 2017.
