There’s a giant alligator terrifying golfers in Florida

Golfers at Buffalo Creek Golf Course have one more hazard than usual to contend with, as the Florida course is home to a gigantic alligator.

This video, captured by a golfer called Charles Helms, has garnered hundreds of thousands of views in just a few days.

Rather than putting people off, the monster alligator has actually turned into one of Buffalo Creek’s biggest attractions.

“People have heard that he is out here and that is all they want to see so they will bring spectators to ride so somebody can get a picture,” says Buffalo Creek employee Wendy Schofield. “He doesn’t bother anybody and they don’t bother him; he’s like a mascot for the course.”

The alligator, estimated to be 15-16 feet long, will now attract even more attention, but isn’t a recent arrival.

“He has been here for a very, very long time – he’s not new at all,” says Schofield.
