Tiger Woods’ Sun Day Red brand signs rising star as first PGA Tour ambassador

Tiger Woods and his Sun Day Red apparel brand have put pen to paper with PGA Tour rookie Karl Vilips.
Tiger Woods has signed Karl Vilips to his Sun Day Red label.
Like his mentor, Australian Vilips, who was the Rookie of the Year on the Korn Ferry Tour last year, is a Stanford alumnus and former amateur World No.1.
Vilips won the US Kids and Junior World Championships at ages 7, 9, 10 and 12, and is a prominent golf YouTuber after his dad decided to start documenting his career from an early age.
“Karl’s journey has been marked by success at every level he’s played,” Woods, who launched Sun Day Red in partnership with TaylorMade last year, explained.
“At Sun Day Red, we were drawn towards his relentless work ethic and pioneering spirit that embody what we stand for and look for in our athletes.
“With his impressive track record and determination, I have no doubt he will make a significant impact quickly on the PGA Tour and is one of the game’s future stars.”
Vilips will debut his Sun Day Red scripting at this week’s Mexico Open as he begins his PGA Tour journey.

The news comes just days after president Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Kai Trump, was spotted alongside Woods at the Genesis Invitational in Sun Day Red’s getup.
The teenage Trump, who is about to head to the University of Miami to embark on her golf career, wore the brand’s Luxe Lounge mid-weight quarter-zip pullover.
Who is Karl Vilips?
Karl Vilips was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and moved to Perth, Australia, at the age of 11. He now resides in Jacksonville, Florida, as he embarks on his professional career.
When asked at PGA Tour New Member orientation last year, Vilips was asked about his heroes in golf.
“Tiger Woods,” he replied. “He’s who got me into this sport, who motivated me to be who I am today. The mentality he brought to everything that he does.”
At the Junior Presidents Cup in 2019, Vilips said Woods, along with Jack Nicklaus and tennis megastar Roger Federer, would make up his dream fourball.
Vilips finished 19th in the order of merit in his first season on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2024, including a maiden victory at the Utah Championship, ranking 1st in Birdie Average, 3rd in Driving Distance (326.8 yards), and 4th in Scoring Average (68.58).
It earned him his full PGA Tour card for the 2025 season.
