The new Golf Pride Align MAX grips are being launched for 2025 to bring even more consistency and repeatability to your golf game, without a loss of feedback

Having debuted the original Align grip more than half a decade ago, back in 2017, the engineers at Golf Pride have been working hard to further enhance the control offered by the original version. Now, with the new Golf Pride Align MAX grips, the company is ready to make a difference to your golf game once again, offering a new challenger for best golf grip in 2025.

The concept behind the original Align was a simple one and holds just as true to the Align MAX model. Namely, it’s the idea that improving the golfer’s ability to position their hands in a more repeatable way, leads to greater consistency in bringing the club to impact in the correct position. The brand achieved this by introducing a specific raised ridge to the rear of the grip, giving players increased feedback on where their fingers and hands were placed around the club.

Where the Align MAX is changing the game though, is in Golf Pride’s ability to respond to consumer and Tour feedback. And who doesn’t love the feeling of a brand new set of grips?

Despite the Align grip becoming one of the most successful technologies in the brand’s history, Golf Pride have not been comfortable just resting on their laurels. With golfers at every level, there was a consensus that, even with the benefits of Align, the model could be pushed further and made even stronger than before. In particular, players who used larger sizes, like Midsize and up, felt they were losing awareness of where the ridge was under their hands.

Golf Pride have taken the grip back to the drawing board to rethink the design to increase awareness of the ALIGN ridge, and made some key improvements that will make Align MAX better than anything produced before.

Firstly, the new Align MAX has been increased by 25% in height, meaning you’re going to gain even more awareness of the alignment aid over the previous generation, promoting additional control for every golfer. It also means that those playing those bigger sizes will get the same level of benefit as those in the standard size.

The technology used in the new Golf Pride Align MAX grips will help all golfers

Golf Pride have been able to achieve this by separately creating the ALIGN technology from the rest of the grip. It’s allowed them to craft a more consistent size along the entirety of the grip, meaning you’ll get the same feeling in the bottom hand as you do in the top. You’ll also now notice a firmer feel to the ridge, a side benefit of building the ridge independently, but this new harder formulation will be able to ‘lock in’ to the parts of your hands and fingers that wrap over the aid.

The whole grip is then compression molded together to create a compounded model. The construction style has also improved on the internal structure of the grip, for an easier installation of the Align MAX, whether you choose to do that yourself or visit your local golf store to have them done professionally.

It’s important to note for golfers who already love the first version of the Golf Pride Align grips, the new MAX model doesn’t replace that generation but will sit alongside it for players looking for a more enhanced version to play with.

Harris English used a set of Golf Pride Align MAX grips in his win at the Farmers Insurance Open

“Our brand purpose is to design grips for the hands of all golfers that will inspire a feeling of confidence so they can perform their best,” says James Ledford, President of Golf Pride. “With ALIGN MAX we reached new heights of what is possible in grip design, resulting in breakthrough technology that provides golfers the confidence their hands are in the right place every shot, for unparalleled consistency.”

Given how impressed players around the world have been with the first generation, it was no surprise to see the Align MAX’s introduction to the Tour level see high levels of take-up by the best in the world. Indeed, Harris English won this year’s Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour in the first week of the Align MAX being available, with a full set installed onto his clubs.

With 80% of the market trusting Golf Pride in their equipment, the Align MAX looks set to only help increase that dominance of the game.

The Golf Pride Align MAX grip is available immediately to all golfers, and comes in both MCC and MCC Plus4 grip styles, two of the company’s most popular offerings. You can also select either option in both standard and Midsize options.
