FIRST LOOK: Maxfli XC Irons Set To Launch in 2025

We’ve been surprised with some new Maxfli irons on the USGA Conforming List, and they’ve certainly caught our eye…

With January of 2025 being full to the brim of club launches, it’s no surprise to see a few unorthodox products here and there. Although we’re at the end of the main club launches for the start of the year, the USGA Conforming List still throws some surprises our way, as we have seen this week with the new Maxfli XC2 and XC3 irons.

We’ve seen several key brands release new iron families in the last month, most notably Callaway with their new Elyte iron range. The Maxfli XC2 and XC3 irons, however, appear to be a completely new family that could propel Maxfli into conversations with the big OEMs.

Maxfli XC2 irons off the USGA Conforming List

At this moment in time, there hasn’t been a lot of information regarding this new iron family from Maxfli, however from the images that have been released on the USGA Conforming List it appears that the XC2 and XC3 iron set will both be forged hollow body construction, like the TaylorMade P770.

The Maflix XC2 appears to be more of a player’s distance iron by aesthetics, whereas the XC3 is visibly more towards a game improvement iron. The large cavity and wide sole on the XC3 look quite unique with the weight positioning, so expect an iron that will pack quite a punch when released.

Maxfli XC3 irons from the USGA Conforming List

Based on the construction of the Maxfli XC2, I fully expect this iron set to be firmly placed on our best players’ distance irons of 2025. The Maxfli XC3 looks to be a perfect rival for the PING G440 irons.

Maxlfi is currently a brand most recognized for its golf balls, having produced the first-ever six-layer golf ball for tour-level performance. Lexi Thompson became the first professional golfer to put the Maxfli Tour golf balls in play in 2023. Ben Griffin followed after. Will this move by Maxfli see Lexi Thompson and Ben Griffin put Maxfli golf clubs in play on tour? With the excellent feedback received from the golf balls, we see no reason why not.

The Maxfli golf balls were tested thoroughly in our 2023 robot golf ball test, and will be tested again in 2025 to compare against other major brands. The Maxfli XC2 and XC3 irons will also be tested by our Equipment Team when released.

We might expect more offerings from Maxfli In 2025, and not just irons. Unfortunately, we haven’t been teased with a release date for the XC2 and XC3 irons, but more information will likely follow in the forthcoming weeks.
