Spotted on Tour: Callaway Paradym Ai-Smoke Ti 340 Mini Driver

Are Callaway bringing a mini driver to the market?
Mini drivers seem to be increasing in popularity amongst Tour players and Callaway appears to be entering the marketplace with a mini driver of their own, the Paradym Ai-Smoke Ti 340 Mini Driver.
Perhaps the most talked about mini driver at the moment is the TaylorMade Brnr Mini which has been gamed by Tommy Fleetwood and Jake Knapp, as well as being tested out by Rory McIlroy. Another mini driver that’s been spotted on Tour is the Titleist TSR Mini Driver. However, the attention could well be shifting to Callaway as they throw their hat into the mix with a mini driver of their own that’s been spotted in the hands of their Tour players, Xander Schauffele and Christiaan Bezuidenhout, at the RBC Heritage.
We don’t know much about the Paradym Ai-Smoke Ti 340 Mini Driver at this stage but based on its name, our guess is that this head incorporates titanium potentially as opposed to forged carbon on the sole of the club which features on the Paradym Ai-Smoke drivers.
Also, we speculate that the “340” number is in reference to the size of the head – 340cc. The crown looks to sport the same carbon fiber material found in the Paradym Ai-Smoke drivers and on the bottom of the club face it reads “Ai Smart Face” which likely suggests it incorporates the same technology as the drivers.
There are two weighting positions on the sole of the club head – one at the rear and one at the front. The weights appear to be interchangeable but we don’t know how much they weigh. Callaway’s OptiFit hosel is a feature of the Paradym Ai-Smoke Ti 340 Mini Driver which enables you to adjust the loft and lie of the club.
We have asked Callaway for any information on the Paradym Ai-Smoke Ti 340 Mini Driver but we have not yet had a response.
Callaway Paradym Ai-Smoke DUW
Another unseen Callaway club has been spotted on the driving range ahead of the RBC Heritage and it’s the Paradym Ai-Smoke DUW, which we can only guess stands for “Deep Utility Wood”. We’ll have our eyes on the bags at The Chevron Championship to see if anyone’s using this or the Paradym Ai-Smoke Ti 340 Mini Driver at the first Major of the season on the LPGA Tour.
It’s very clear to see that the Paradym Ai-Smoke DUW has a deeper face than any of the other Pardaym Ai-Smoke fairway woods, but that isn’t the only noticeable difference.
It seems as though Xander Schauffele and Chris Kirk are the two main professionals sampling this Callaway Paradym Ai-Smoke DUW and from the images you can see there are four weights in the sole of the club. The four weights create somewhat of a “T” given that one of the weights is towards the back of the club head and the other three are at the front – one in the heel, one in the toe, and one in the center. At this stage, we don’t know exactly how much each of them weighs.
The sole of the club looks to be made from the same metal as the other Paradym Ai-Smoke fairway woods, but unlike three of the four fairway woods currently available in the Paradym Ai-Smoke family the DUW doesn’t have an OptiFit hosel – just like the Callaway Ai-Smoke Max Fast fairway wood doesn’t.
We have asked Callaway for any information on the Paradym Ai-Smoke Ti 340 Mini Driver but we have not yet had a response.
