Why Callaway’s new Elyte Mini Driver could end your driver woes
Last updated:
Callaway have decided to enter the Mini Driver space in 2025 with the Callaway Elyte Mini Driver, giving versatility on and off the tee for a top-of-the-bag offering that will appeal to many golfers.
To the untrained eye, the Callaway Elyte Mini Driver looks like a slimmed-down version of the Callaway Elyte core model. Whilst they have several key similarities, the mini driver offers a few different elements that will attract golfers looking for accuracy and forgiveness off the tee.

Versatility and Adjustability
Callaway have stated that the Elyte Mini Driver will be easier to launch than a fairway wood, making this a weapon for the golfer who requires accuracy off the tee. The deeper face will make this harder for some to use on the fairway, but based on the technology behind this Mini Driver, it appears that this will be predominantly an off the tee club.
The Callaway Elyte Mini Driver features neutral, fade, and draw settings for customized ball flight control, pushing this product to the top of the adjustability rankings alongside the PXG Secret Weapon.
The Biggest of Them All
What stood out to me is the size of this Mini Driver compared to its competitors. The Callaway Elyte Mini Driver comes in at 340CC, with two lofts to choose from (11.5 & 13.5). This is significantly larger than the other Mini Drivers that are available from other brands (TaylorMade 304CC, PXG 300CC, Titleist 280CC, ). This pushes the product to be more of a replacement for your driver rather than a fairway wood, providing more forgiveness off the tee, where you can tee it up in comparison to off the fairway, where launching it may prove harder for the slower swing speeds.

Callaway’s Signature Technology
Like the Callaway Elyte driver family, the Callaway Elyte Mini Driver features similar tech to enhance ball speed and forgiveness across the entire face. Callaway’s new Ai10x Face delivers 10x more control points than the Ai Smart Face™, producing exceptionally fast ball speeds, tight dispersion, and optimized launch across the face.
The Callaway Elyte Mini Driver also features the new Thermoforged Carbon crown and enhanced aerodynamic shaping, enabling fast head speeds while optimizing launch and spin. Expect this model to be slightly faster than other Mini Drivers on the scene, due to the size and technology engineered into this product.
Who Should Use This?
Like the Callaway Ai Smoke Ti 340, we expect this to be leaning more towards a driver replacement than a fairway wood replacement. The larger size and deeper face makes this particular product significant different to a fairway wood, and although that is good for some, I wouldn’t sacrifice a 3 wood for this club.
The faster-swinging players will see the biggest benefit from this club, and I would imagine we may see this in the bag of Callaway Staff Professionals throughout the year, especially The Open.
