Outdoor apparel brand ventures into the golf market with high-tech range of products

Craghoppers have been designing apparel to battle all conditions for 60 years, and now they’re entering the golf market with a range of products featuring never-seen-before tech. Here’s our verdict on Craghoppers golf apparel…

Craghoppers enter the golf apparel market, and they bring with them not only all of their 60 years of expertise in making quality, practical, and durable apparel but also their own industry-leading NosiLife insect repellent technology.

NosiLife technology is the highlight of Craghoppers golf apparel, it works to keep golfers who play in areas with long grass, near water, and in warmer climates safe from biting insects. The insect-repellent technology is built into the fabric of the garment and proven to be effective at warding off insects, including mosquitoes, midges, ticks, and more.

Craghoppers golf apparel range

Craghoppers golf apparel is a great choice for environmentally conscious golfers who actively want to make a more sustainable choice because the NosiLife technology is sourced from a renewable plant-based source.

You don’t need to worry about the technology fading over time because it has been designed to last the lifetime of the garment.

As well as being incredibly practical, Craghoppers apparel is extremely comfortable and fashionable. Here are our verdicts on every item in Craghoppers golf apparel range.

The Goswick Half-Zip is a very classic midlayer, built with NosiLife technology and offering UPF 50+ sun protection. Like the Avro, the navy and grey colour scheme isn’t a home run for me, but that’s completely personal preference. It hasn’t stopped me from wearing the Goswick because it’s incredibly comfortable and easy to layer.

The Goswick allows for complete range of movement, whether you’re wearing it as a top layer or as a midlayer. The lack of restriction is attributed to the stretch fabric. The Goswick washes well, holding its shape, and it shows very few creases - perfect if you don’t love ironing.

The slim fit of the Santos trousers is definitely to my liking. As soon as I popped these trousers on, I could tell they would become a staple of my golf wardrobe. One, because of how they fit, two, because of the NosiLife protection, and three, because of the sunglasses wipe in the pocket (I use it to clean my golf ball).

As well as featuring Craghoppers’ outstanding NosiLife technology, the Santos trousers offer UPF 50+ sun protection, moisture control, anti-odour, and they’re incredibly lightweight at only 300g.

I’ve worn these trousers on multiple occasions, and every time I’ve washed them, they’ve come out of the wash in perfect condition, ready to throw on again.

A refreshing addition to Craghoppers range of golf apparel is the Bromsgrove Full-Zip fleece because of its insulating properties. Playing regularly in the early morning at Cleveland Golf Club, an insulating golf jacket is highly appreciated. The Bromsgrove also sports Crghoppers’ anti-odour and NosiLife technologies.

For an insulating full-zip fleece, the Bromsgrove is surprisingly lightweight, weighing only 345g. This jacket holds its shape very well after washes, the fabric allows for full movement, whether you wear this as a top layer or as a mid-layer.

The Long Sleeved Mock Neck Crahoppers offer is arguably the star of their inaugural range of golf apparel products. I absolutely love wearing this as a base layer and on its own underneath a sweatshirt.

The stretchy, moisture-controlling, and odour-resistant properties keep you cool, fresh, and comfortable throughout your round. Cuck in the NosiLife and UPF 50+ protection, and you have the ultimate base layer.

Every avid golfer should have the Craghoppers NosiLife Long Sleeve Mock Neck in their wardrobe.

Long sleeved polos aren’t an item I’d typically wear on the golf course, but I enjoy wearing the Bramshaw Long Sleeved Polo, safe in the knowledge my forearms are protected from insects with the NosiLife technology.

I’m prone to a nasty insect bite, playing on the North East coast regularly at Cleveland Golf Club, there aren’t tonnes of insects but they still manage to get me! I’ve worn this polo around my home track and at Dunstanburgh Castle, both times I left the golf course unscathed - all down to the Bramshaw.

The Bramshaw is very easy to care for. I’ve washed it a couple of times, and it’s held its shape well. The UPF 50+ sun protection is highly appreciated, especially on warm days on the links with a chilly crosswind.

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Good quality
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Protection from insects and the sun

Cons

  • Long sleeves might not be everyone's cup of tea

I’m a sucker for a zip-up polo shirt, so the Avro Short Sleeved Polo ticked a box for me straightaway. However, I’m not a massive fan of the colour combination. That being said, I do like wearing the Avro because of the UPF 50+ sun protection and NosiLife technology. Personally, every time I wear this polo shirt, it’s because I’m valuing practicality over style.

I really like the overall fit of the Avro; it’s stretchy enough to allow a full range of movement, and the material holds its shape very well after every wash. The moisture control and anti-odour properties keep you fresh throughout your round.

Surprisingly, I much prefer wearing the Bramshaw - despite the zipped centre front of the Avro.

Pros

  • Big fan of the zipped centre front
  • High quality
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Protection from insects and the sun

Cons

  • Not super keen on the colour combination
Sizes S - XXL
Materials 90% polyester (62% recycled); 10% elastane
