Callaway reveal Paradym fairway woods and hybrids
Last updated:
Callaway’s tech-packed and forgiving Paradym fairway woods and hybrids complement revolutionary drivers.
As the definition of paradigm suggests, the new Paradym family sees a consistent idea flowing through the entire range with Callaway promising unparalleled distance and forgiveness.
Carbon is the big story in Callaway’s Paradym drivers, and it continues into the fairways. With a new forged carbon sole allowing weight to be redistributed and a ‘Batwing’ evolution of Jailbreak increasing stability, Callaway say this is the most advanced and forgiving fairway wood they have ever made.
A new tungsten speed cartridge has pushed the center of gravity low and forward, but it hasn’t created poor MOI. In fact, Paradym has the highest MOI Callaway have ever achieved in a fairway wood and even more adjustability.
In robot testing against the Rogue ST Max fairway, shots from low on the Paradym face produced 531rpm less spin and 7.4 yards more distance.
There are three drivers and fairway woods, but only two Paradym hybrids.
The standard model is a fully adjustable mid-size hybrid designed for versatility and control, while the Paradym X is a full-sized hybrid that provides versatility and forgiveness.
A new sole design acts like a rudder to make it easier to square the face, while the new Jailbreak with Batwing, 455 face cup and tungsten speed cartridge boost ball speeds by two mph. It follows the fairway wood in being more forgiving than its predecessor with 15% tighter dispersion than the Rogue ST.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Paradym fairway woods and hybrids, including the tech and how each model differs.
Callaway Paradym Fairway Woods
As with the new Paradym drivers, Callaway have completely reimagined the family’s three fairway woods in a bid to create breakthrough distance and forgiveness.
What they have created is a construction that eliminates weight from the body and repositions it for unprecedented gains in speed and MOI.
Each of the three models – Paradym, Paradym X, and Paradym Triple Diamond – has been designed with different players in mind, and all will feature in our test of the year’s best fairway woods, but there’s a lot of the same tech that flows throughout.
Jailbreak with Batwing Technology
Callaway have used their Artificial Intelligence software to create a new Jailbreak Batwing structure, which is pushed to the perimeter of the club, helping to stiffen the body and allowing the face to flex for high ball speeds. As with the drivers, this means players no longer have to give up forgiveness for distance or vice-versa.
Tungsten Speed Cartridge
The center of gravity has been pushed low and forward with the use of high-density tungsten. There are 23 grams in the standard model, 25 grams in the X, and 21 grams in the Triple Diamond, creating the optimal launch and spin and maximizing speed for more distance.
High-Strength Face Cup
Callaway’s AI has also been used to create an all-new face to get the best speed, launch, and spin numbers. Each model has its own customized face and the tech could be used in the future to take custom-fitting to new levels with faces perfectly mapped for individual players.
Paired with Callaway’s high-strength C300 maraging steel face cup, you can expect impressive speed and consistency across the face.
So how do the three models differ?
Callaway Paradym fairway wood
RRP £379/$379.99 | Available February 24th, 2023 | Lofts 3W –15º, 3HL – 16.5º, 5W – 18º, 7W – 21º, 9W – 24º, 11W – 27º, HVN – 20º | Availability Right Hand (All models), Left Hand (3W, 5W, 7W))
The Paradym Fairway Wood is Callaway’s most robust fairway wood and will fit a wide range of players. It features progressive shaping throughout the seven lofts and is ideal for golfers who want an easy and high-launching, low-spinning fairway wood with a neutral ball flight.
The forged carbon sole has allowed the R&D team to redistribute weight in a totally new way, increasing Paradym’s MOI over last year’s Rogue ST and making it Callaway’s longest fairway wood ever.
A mid-sized fairway wood with a shallow face, it’s more forgiving than the Triple Diamond model but less so than the X. There’s a choice of seven stock shafts and you’ll find a fully adjustable hosel in both the 3-wood and 3HL.

Callaway Paradym X fairway wood
RRP £379/$379.99 | Available February 24th, 2023 | Lofts 3W –15º, 3HL – 16.5º, 5W – 18º, 7W – 21º | Availability Right Hand (All models), Left Hand (3W, 5W)
The Paradym X fairway wood will fit players looking for our most forgiving shape. It has the highest launch of the three models and a slight draw bias to aid players who have a tendency to lose the ball to the right.
A forged carbon toe patch in the 3W and 3HL models saves weight and allows it to be redistributed to the heel to make the club easy to turn over and help add distance.
The X has a larger clubhead volume than the standard Paradym fairway wood, but the same shallow face and mid-sized footprint.
You’ll find a more upright lie angle and a neutral face at address, while the adjustable 3-wood allows even more ability to dial in your perfect launch.

Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond fairway wood
RRP £379/$379.99 | Available February 24th, 2023 | Lofts 3+ – 13.5º, 3W – 15º, 5W – 18º | Availability Right Hand (All models), Left Hand (3W, 5W)
Callaway’s most compact fairway wood shape with a deeper face and compact shape at address. It is best suited for stronger players with the Triaxial Carbon crown helping to create a low and forward CG for a penetrating ball flight with lower spin.
It offers forgiveness, but nothing like the amount you’ll find in the standard and X models. All three Triple Diamond models are adjustable, making it even easier to dial in the perfect trajectory.

Callaway Paradym Hybrids
Callaway say Paradym is the most versatile hybrid thanks to the new Cutwave Sole design which acts like a rudder to make it easier to square the face and play from a variety of lies. Our test pro will put those claims to the test when we select the best hybrids of 2023.
The two models, which we’ve reviewed in full here, use adaptations of the best speed technologies from the brand’s fairway woods to ensure maximum distance and, like the drivers and fairways, boast a host of matching tech.
All-New Tungsten Speed Cartridge
Callaway’s revolutionary Tungsten Speed Cartridge has been designed to lower spin and create more ball speed. By incorporating high-density tungsten, they have pushed the center of gravity (CG) low and forward.
Jailbreak with Batwing Technology
The renowned Jailbreak tech has evolved throughout the Paradym family with the Artificial Intelligence helping to create ‘Batwing Technology’, which increases stiffness in the perimeter while allowing the face to flex for high ball speeds right across it. In other words, hitting one out of the toe or heel won’t cost you much distance.
High-Strength Face Cup
AI has also been used to create the new high-strength 455 Face Cup, which is said to optimize ball speeds and improve spin robustness across the face. Each model features a unique AI pattern to enhance performance in that specific head.
All-New Cutwave Sole Design
The sole has been designed to cut through the turf with ease, especially from thick rough, whilst an increased camber on the leading edge improves turf interaction. Callaway say it’s this which makes Paradym the most versatile family of hybrids they’ve ever created.
Adjustable Hosel
Both hybrids allow you to optimize trajectory and control thanks to an adjustable hosel sleeve capable of +2º/ -1º of loft.
Let’s take a look at how the two hybrids differ.
Callaway Paradym Hybrid
RRP £299/$299.99 | Available February 24th, 2023 | Lofts 18º, 21º, 24º, 27º | Availability Right Hand (All models), Left Hand (18º, 21º, 24º)
The Paradym model is for golfers who want a mid-sized, wood-shaped hybrid that’s long with excellent versatility and control. It launches high, but not as high as the X, and has a neutral flight. Adjustability across all four lofts allows you to get perfectly dialed into the right flight and ensures no yardage gaps.
You’ll notice the standard hybrid is printed with lofts and only has four models, while the X is printed with the number of the iron it is meant to replace and there are five models.
It also has a fully adjustable hosel so you can fully dial in your trajectory and ensure your club gapping is perfect.

Callaway Paradym X Hybrid
RRP £299/$299.99 | Available February 24th, 2023 | Lofts 3 – 18º, 4 – 21º, 5 – 24º, 6 – 27º, 7 – 30º | Availability Right Hand (All models), Left Hand (3, 4, 5)
The Paradym X model is for golfers looking for an oversized, wood-shaped hybrid that’s long with excellent versatility and forgiveness.
It launches higher than the standard model and has a semi-draw bias to help golfers who may be prone to hitting the ball to the right.
More golfers are putting extra hybrids in the bag and the Paradym X allows you to replace everything up to your 7-iron with adjustability throughout the range to ensure a perfectly balanced bag. The X is printed with its iron equivalent as opposed to the lofts, which Callaway believe will simplify the hybrid process for amateurs.
