RRP £849-£1,149 | Available March 4th

Let’s start with the Rogue ST irons (Jump to the hybrids). Any company that can count the brilliant forged Apex iron family within their ranks is going to find it difficult when introducing competing new models.

Apex are the best irons Callaway make because they’re forged and cost over a grand a set. But Callaway know that not everyone is willing to pay top price to play forged irons, so there’s plenty of space for the new Rogue ST models.

Like the new driver, there are four models – Pro, Max, Max OS and Max OS Lite – and they each share a lot of the same charateristics.

The new Callaway Rogue ST Irons.

– In an industry first, all four models have a new High Strength 450 steel A.I. designed Flash Face Cup, which Callaway say delivers more ball speed and better ball speed consistency.

– Callaway’s new A.I. face optimisation formula now includes speed, launch, & spin, which is for each model and each loft.

– The ‘Speed Tuned’ tungsten weighting allows Callaway to locate the centre of gravity preciley for the optimal launch throughout the set. Each Rogue ST iron model’s CG locations are tailored specifically for the intended player type.

– Additional urethane microspheres (up to the 6th groove) help provide a great sound and feel.

They’re the similarities. But how do the four irons differ. Let’s take a closer look at each model and how they differ.

Callaway Rogue ST Max Irons.

Callaway Rogue ST Max Irons

RRP £849 (s), £1,049 (g) | Availability 4-PW, AW, GW, SW | Left hand Yes | Stock shafts Project X Cypher 50g (Light); True Temper Elevate MPH 95g (Reg, Stiff); Mitsubishi Tensei AV Blue 60g (Reg), 70g (Stiff) | Stock grip Callaway Universal | 7-iron loft 27.5º | On sale 4/3/2022

The original Rogue X iron caused quite a stir as its 27º 7-iron was the strongest and longest on the market at the time. Callaway have dialled back a fraction on the ST Max’s loft (27.5º), but they insist the 2022 Rogue is longer thanks to new high-strength 450 AI Face Cups.

The material is stronger and more durable, but essentially also capable of flexing nearly as much as a titanium driver face, which is amazing considering the size and material difference.

Callaway say that thanks to a more stable body (there’s 62g of tungsten inside; 260% more than Mavrik), energy transfer efficiency is improved, too.

Callaway Rogue ST Max OS Irons.

Callaway Rogue ST Max OS Irons

RRP £849 (s), £1,049 (g) | Availability 4-PW, AW, GW, SW | Left hand Yes | Stock shafts Project X Cypher 50g (Light); True Temper Elevate MPH 85g (Reg, Stiff); Mitsubishi Tensei AV Blue 60g (Reg), 70g (Reg,Stiff) | Stock grip Callaway Universal | 7-iron loft 28.5º | On sale 4/3/2022

Compared to the Rogue ST Max, the OS have wider soles, more offset (which creates a little draw bias) and a thicker topline, all of which will help boost confidence for lots of mid-to-high handicappers.

A fraction more loft (than the Rogue ST Max) helps flight shots correctly at more average speeds, so approaches will still stop and hold a green.

All four Rogue ST sets have unique AI-developed face patterns to optimise ball speed, launch and spin based on the typical impact locations for their target golfer.

Mid-to-high handicappers will get better performance on toe-side misses with the Max OS, while better players will get improved results on heel misses with the Rogue ST Pro.

Callaway Rogue ST Max OS Lite

RRP £1,049 (g) | Availability 4-PW, AW, GW, SW | Left hand Yes | Stock shafts Project X Cypher 40g (Wms), 50g (Light), 60g (Reg) | Stock grip Callaway Universal, Diamond Universal | 7-iron loft 31.5º | On sale 4/3/2022

The fact the Max OS Lite is only available with graphite shafts in Women’s, Lite and Regular flexes says everything you need to know about this model.

Callaway say it shouldn’t be pigeon-holed as a women’s or senior iron, but it’s the perfect cavity back for golfers who struggle for speed.

The heads are lighter and larger than the Max OS, and there’s more loft, to keep shots in the air for longer.

Callaway Rogue ST Pro Irons.

Callaway Rogue ST Pro Irons

RRP £949 (s), £1,149 (g) | Availability 4-PW, AW | Left hand Yes | Stock shafts Project X Rifle Tour Flighted 105g (Regular, Stiff), Mitsubishi Tensei AV White 70g (Regular), 80g (Stiff) | Stock grip Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 | 7-iron loft 30.5º | On sale 4/3/2022

ST Pro is a cast hollow body iron (the majority of hollow irons have either a forged body or face). Thanks to 48g of tungsten inside (split between toe and heel locations, and 188% more than the Mavrik), we get the looks of a tidy muscleback blade at address with similar levels of forgiveness to a compact mid-handicap cavity back.

Designed for low-to-mid single-figure handicappers, Callaway say the Pro is compact and workable as well as being fast and long for the category.

Callaway Rogue ST Hybrids

RRP £299 | Available March 4th

The Callaway Rogue ST Hybrids.

The personalised performance approach flows from the driver and fairway woods into the four new Rogue ST hybrids, which Callaway say are their fastest family of rescue clubs ever.

Like the drivers, there are four models in the mix – ST Max, STMax OS, ST Max OS Lite and ST Pro – and they all share a lot of the same charateristics.

– A new Jailbreak speed frame behind the face creates more stability by pushing the structure to the perimeter, allowing allowing the face to flex more and create higher ball speeds.

– The high-strength 455 face cup is a specially treated high strength steel designed for more ball speed and ball speed consistency.

– The ‘Speed Tuned’ A.I.-designed face has used a new optimisation formula that includes speed, launch, & spin, which is unique for each model and each loft.

– The ‘Speed Tuned’ tungsten allows for precise CG location to help delivers optimal launch with more ball speed.

– Refined soles promote better turf interaction and club versatility.

Let’s take a look at how the Rogue ST hybrids differ.
