TaylorMade launch Kalea Premier women’s range

TaylorMade’s Kalea Premier range brings top-quality, custom-fitted clubs to women’s golf.
TaylorMade have got their teeth into a new ‘segmentation’ concept that’s already swept through mega-brands such as Nike, Volkswagen and Coca-Cola.
After surveying 15,000 golfers, TaylorMade say they’re in a better position to understand their behaviours, attitudes and preferences, without the traditional constraints of grouping players by gender, age, or ability.
The research highlighted TaylorMade’s product line had a glaring gap for desirable, customisable performance women’s clubs. That led them to set up a Women’s Advisory Board and this is one of the first product ranges to come out of it, Kalea Premier.
The range sits between the current Kalea and Stealth families and, based on their research, TaylorMade say Kalea Premier will satisfy the demands of women golfers who want custom-fitted equipment, those wanting a technology story who don’t mind paying for it, and golfers who put a premium on looks.
Kalea Premier Woods
Lightweight speed, easy launch and maximum forgiveness pretty much sums up the story behind most women’s clubs. But a huge benefit of the Kalea Premier is the ability to custom fit them, which has not often been an option for women golfers in the past. Much like the SIM2 Max driver, the Kalea Premier boasts tour-proven tech (carbon crown and sole with aluminium back ring and an Inertia Generator) which have been tuned to offer slower swing speed more performance.

We love how the fairway woods each have the same size head. The idea promotes additional forgiveness and appearance consistency, so golfers don’t feel less confident when pulling a smaller 7-wood from their bag. Expect an ultra-low profile and shape, plus a V Steel sole and a 37% larger face than the standard Kalea woods.
The hybrids in the TaylorMade Kalea Premier range run from #4 (23º) to #7 (35º), so any iron you don’t hit with confidence can easily be replaced.
Kalea Premier Irons
TaylorMade are masters at making desirable irons that appeal to the mass market. The Kalea Premier
is clean, there’s no pink (a decision the Women’s Advisory Board spent hours discussing) and there’s no whiff of a wide topline or huge sole, which means this is a great-looking iron.
A clever Cap Back design is more efficient than a traditional cavity back and gives a sleek appearance, while Thru-Slot speed pockets protect ball speed for shots hit low on the face. Sets are available from 6-SW.

TaylorMade Spider Mini Putter
The Spider has put TaylorMade firmly on the putter map over the last decade, so it makes perfect sense to include a more compact Spider Mini within the new Kalea Premier family.
TaylorMade say the head is 10% smaller and the model has a 70g graphite shaft to reduce overall weight (by 40g), which adds additional stroke consistency in the hands of less powerful golfers.
A brilliant high-MOI mid-mallet with Pure Roll insert maximises topspin, reduces skid, and improves feel.
