Callaway launch new Chrome Soft X LS golf ball aimed at low handicappers

Callaway extend the Chrome Soft golf ball range with brand new Chrome Soft X LS, aimed at low handicap golfers.
In recent years, golf manufacturers have become increasingly aware that one size does not fit all.
Wedges now come in a multitude of different grinds, bounces, and finishes; drivers come in low spin, draw-biased or maximum forgiveness models, each adjustable to create thousands of different setups; and even putters are now available with a choice of neck, adjustable weighting, and, in some cases, the option to design your own paintjob.

Golf balls still have some catching up to do, but there’s already a shift towards offering a wider choice of models, so that golfers can pick a golf ball that really suits their game and needs.
Callaway already offered the standard Chrome Soft golf ball and the Chrome Soft X, but have now added the Chrome Soft X LS, a low-spinning model aimed at golfers with fast swings and low handicaps.

Callaway say the Chrome Soft X LS golf ball is aimed at better players who want to “bomb it” off the tee, with a tremendous combination of long distance and a straight ball flight from their longer clubs. Callaway say it’s their longest tour ball, so if distance is king for you, it could be the model you’re looking for.
The four-piece, single core construction is engineered to increase speed through a SoftFast Core with an advanced inner core diameter, a Dual Mantle System, and a refined urethane cover.

In addition, the Chrome Soft X LS promotes maximum greenside control from high spin, low launch and excellent feel in your scoring clubs.
Callaway Chrome Soft X LS – Features & Benefits
Large SoftFast Core increases speed and distance
High speed core design is significantly larger to promote more ball speed and distance through the bag. This core also works with the mantle system to deliver high resilience and speed.
Maximum ball speed and consistent spin from a High Speed Dual Mantle System
This mantle system is designed for high ball speeds. The Soft Inner Mantle and a highly resilient Firm Outer Mantle work together to generate fast ball speeds off the club face. This innovative system is specifically designed to increase total distance.
TESTED: Callaway Chrome Soft X vs Titleist Pro V1x
Excellent feel and spin control from a thin Propriety Urethane Cover
Extremely durable, resilient and thin cover material. It’s built to increase ball speed and create low spin on full shots, while maintaining high spin, low launch, and control around the green.
Longer distance and consistent trajectory from an optimised Aero Design
Aero design reduces drag for longer overall distance. The consistent, penetrating ball flight is optimised for the Chrome Soft X LS’ lower spin characteristics.
Who should play the Callaway Chrome Soft X LS golf ball?
If you’re a mid-handicapper, averaging 230 yards off the tee, the Callaway Chrome Soft X LS golf ball probably isn’t for you. It’s very much aimed at tour pros, elite golfers and low handicappers, and you won’t get the most from it unless you have a high swing speed.
In truth, like the Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash, the Callaway Chrome Soft X LS is probably a model that has been in circulation among tour players for some time, before being made available to consumers as well.
