The new model promises to take the famed balls to the next level, promising more greenside spin, a softer feel and a higher, more consistent flight.
There have been changes to every layer – the reformulated 2.0 ZG Process Core delivers increased distance in the solid core Pro V1 and dual core ProV1x, while speed and long-game spin is added thanks to the faster ionemer high-flex casing that was seen on the Pro V1x Left Dash option.

But it’s the cover of both balls that have seen the most notable changing, with Titleist tweaking the dimple pattern for the first time in a decade to provide a higher and more consistent ball flight.

More than 60 different dimple patterns were tested to ensure maximum performance before the brand settled on the final design. The new Pro V1 sees its number of dimples increase from 352 to 358 and will continue to be famed for it’s penetrating flight and softer feel, while the Pro V1x, which goes from 328 to 348 dimples, will fly higher than its predecessor and provide more spin than its sibling.
As well as the dimple pattern, the ball’s Cast Urethane Elastomer cover has been made even softer, helping you create more greenside spin.

And there’s a new alignment aid design on the side of the ball, with an enhanced alignment version, featuring lines on each side, also available (number 1-4 only).
While the quality of Titleist’s balls is never in doubt, the new Pro V1’s reputation is already growing with Brian Gay enjoying his first PGA Tour victory in seven years using it at the Bermuda Championship and Cameron Smith using the new Pro V1x en route to becoming the first player in history to shoot four rounds in the 60s at The Masters.

Justin Thomas also has the Pro V1x in play at the European Tour’s season opener in Abu Dhabi and Adam Scott has moved acros to the same model.
The 2021 Pro V1 and Pro V1x are available in white (numbers 1-4, 5-8, 00 or 1-99) and yellow (1-4 only). They go on sale on February 5, with an RRP of £50 per dozen.
