Titleist launch TSi2 and TSi3 drivers and fairway woods
Last updated:
Titleist TSi2 and TSi3 bring a “breakthrough” titanium face to golf as brand unveil their “longest, straightest, best-looking and best-sounding” drivers and fairway woods.
Titleist have become the first golf brand to use ATI 425 Aerospace Titanium, a material that was originally developed for ballistic armour and used in NASA’s Phoenix Mars Lander.
Using ATI 425 in the TSi2 and TSi3 drivers has allowed Titleist’s engineers to create the brand’s fastest ever face that produces a fast ball launch from any point of contact.

“ATI 425 is an amazing alloy that leads to a lot of performance benefits,” Dan Stone, Senior Vice President of Titleist’s R&D, explains.
“It’s incredibly strong and maintains elongation under high stress. It let us optimise the thickness of the entire face to a degree that was never possible before and generate our highest ball speeds ever at points all over the face – not just heel and toe but also high and low.”

Aerodynamic engineers have managed to reduce drag in the TSi2 and TSi3 drivers by up to 15 per cent over Titleist’s previous generation TS models to help increase club head speed for greater ball speed and distance, while high inertia helps produce an extremely stable clubhead for more consistent speed and spin.
While most golfers consider “high MOI” to mean heel to toe forgiveness, TSi also optimises sole to crown performance, increasing intertia by up to 13 per cent higher over TS.
TSi’s speed-optimised MOI works together with a low and deep centre of gravity to produce faster ball speeds with a high launch, low spin and exceptional stability for more consistency.

“TSi just looks fast and it sounds like a missile coming off the face,” Justin Thomas, Titleist ambassador, says.
“When I first tested it, I hit one drive off the toe and it carried almost 20 yards further than I would have thought. That’s what we want is the bad ones to perform better.”
Already the most-played drivers on the PGA Tour, Thomas is one of more than 100 players to put TSi in the bag since they were introduced in early September. It was tour feedback from the likes of Thomas and Jordan Spieth that led to the softer toe profile seen in both clubheads, which looks square look at address.
A new contrasting head design highlights the centre for easy alignment and there’s a Tour-quality sound at impact.

Both the TSi2 and TSi3 drivers feature Titleist’s SureFit hosel with 16 independent loft and lie settings, plus headweight adjustability (in two-gram increments, ranging from -4g to 4g) to create an ideal and consistent ball flight for your game.
You can also choose from four high-performance shafts – Mitsubishi KURO KAGE Black Dual-Core 5G (High launch and spin), Mitsubishi TENSEI AV RAW Blue (Mid launch and spin), HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX (Low-mid launch and spin) and Mitsubishi TENSEI AV RAW White (Low launch and spin) – as standard.
Alternatively three premium upgraded shafts are avaiable through Titleist’s new partnership with Graphite Design. Each is engineered with aerospace-quality carbon-fibre materials for stability, consistency and feel.

Where do the Titleist drivers differ?
Titleist TSi 2 driver
The more modern-shaped TSi 2 is aimed at players who want speed and accuracy across the entire face. It has an exceptionally stable high-MOI design with an adjustable swingweight and deeper, lower fixed CG to maximise distance through high launch and low spin.
TSi2 is available in 9º, 10º and 11º.

Titleist TSi3 driver
The traditionally shaped TSi3 is aimed at more consistent ball strikers seeking more control over their ball flight.
A five-setting SureFit CG track offers more precise adjustments, from most heel biased through to most toe biased, allowing players to fine-tune their club’s performance.
TSi3 is designed for mid-high launch with low spin and is available in 8º, 9º and 10º.

Titleist TSi fairway woods
The TSi2 and TSi3 fairway woods are speed-tuned to get the clubhead moving faster than ever for more distance across the face.
Titleist say TSi’s speed is thanks to key innovations, including the Active Recoil Channel (ARC) 4.0, which launches the ball off the face with high launch, low spin and more speed.

The improved design of ARC 4.0 – featuring a shorter channel wall – produces greater face flexibility for higher ball speeds, while the more compact design sees five grams of weight redistributed to boost MOI, creating a fast, stable and forgiving clubhead.
“The Active Recoil Channel is such a key technology in fairway metals because of where the impact happens, low on the face,” said Stephanie Luttrell, director of Titleist Metalwood Devlopment.

“Typically, those strikes from the turf would come off the face much slower, but ARC keeps the face flexing through impact to preserve the speed players need to reach their target.”
The TSi fairways also feature a high-speed VFT face which works with ARC 4.0 to maximise ball speed and forgiveness across the face.
As with the TSi drivers, a high-contrast graphic face design to make alignment a breeze, while the tour-requested softer toe profile also moves into the fairway woods.
Titleist’s SureFit hosel provides 16 independent loft and lie settings, while an adjuatble headweight (in two-gram increments, ranging from -4g to 4g) creates the ideal and consistent ball flight for your game.

Shafts for the TSi2 and TSi3 fairway woods have been developed by the top manufacturers using insights from Titleist’s motion-capture and consumer tests to ensure the very best options for every swing speed and need.
Each fairway comes with the choice of four high-performance shafts – KURO KAGE Black DC (High launch, mid spin), TENSEI AV Series Blue Raw (Mid launch and spin), HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX (Low/mid launch and spin) and TENSEI AV Series White Raw (Low launch and spin) – as standard.
You can also upgrade to one of three premium shafts through Titleist’s new partnership with Graphite Design, all engineered with aerospace-quality carbon-fibre materials for stability, consistency and feel.
The TSi fairways have already proved a hit on the world’s tours with Ian Poulter, Cameron Smith and Jimmy Walker among more than 100 Tour players who have switched to them since they debuted in September.

Titleist TSi3
TSi3 traditional-shaped 175cc fairway is for consistent ball-strikers who want to be able to work the ball and have precise control over the centre of gravity placement.
Designed for precision, Titleist’s three-setting SureFit CG Track allows the fairway wood’s CG to be easily moved from neutral to a toe or heel bias for fine-tuned performance, with the track design disappearing into the sole of the club after adjustment.
TSi3 creates a mid-high launch with low spin and is available in 13.5 (RH only), 15º, 16.5º and 18º (RH only).
