Callaway Big Bertha REVA gives women distance and forgiveness

Callaway Big Bertha REVA golf clubs are a new range designed specifically to give women golfers more distance and ultimate forgiveness.

The REVA driver, fairway wood, hybrid and iron join the iconic Big Bertha line alongside the new B21 range of men’s super game-improver clubs, with Callaway saying both familes designed to give “distance any way you swing it”.

With women now the fastest growing group in golf, Callaway have committed to using extensive data and feedback to “develop exceptional products, experiences, and platforms to promote our passion for the women’s game.”

Let’s take a closer look at the new family.

Callaway Big Bertha REVA driver

REVA is designed to help women “unlock their inner distance” and get the very best from their game.

It is Callaway’s first high-launch driver with an ultra-low forward centre of gravity for low spin for a more consistent, fairway-finding flight.

The brand conducted extensive performance-data research and carried out huge amounts of testing with golfers before reworking the technologies that make Big Bertha drivers long, straight and easy to hit to ensure REVA delivers exactly what women need for their game.

The new model boasts optimised lofts, swingweights, shaft lengths and a high MOI head shape that has been engineered with internal draw bias to improve launch angles for a longer, straighter ball flight.

As with the new Big Bertha BB21 driver, REVA features Callaway’s Artificial Intelligence-designed Flash Face SS21, with a stronger and lighter material providing faster balls speeds across more of the face for distance even when you miss the centre.

REVA also uses Callaway’s coveted Jailbreak technology. Two bars behind the face help increase it’s flex for even more distance, while the lightweight carbon crown has allowed weight to be placed elsewhere for more forgiveness. There’s also a speed-enhancing RCH 40 shaft and Lamkin Women’s ST Soft Grip. 

The new driver is available in 10.5 and 12.5-degree models, with each adjustable to one-degree lower or two-degrees higher.

Callaway Big Bertha REVA fairway wood

Many club golfers avoid hitting fairway woods through fear of inconsistent contact, but Callaway say that REVA is their easiest to launch women’s fairway wood.

As with the B21 range, the distance and forgiveness story continues throughout the REVA family, the woods again optimised to give you more yards.

A shallower face, progressive shaft lengths and an oversized Big Bertha shape are all designed to take the fear out of hitting fairway woods, making consistent contact and launches more likely.

The REVA fairway has added offset to help reduce misses to the right, while the advanced AI Designed Flash Face and Jailbreak technology also make their way into this model for further distance benefits.

The Big Bertha fairway is available in 3-wood (15 degrees), 5-wood (18 degrees), 7-wood (21 degrees) and 9-wood (24 degrees), with the progressive shafts gradually decreasing from 42 inches to 39.7 inches.

Once again, you’ll find the specially-designed Callaway RCH shaft and Lamkin Women’s ST Soft Grip.

Callaway Big Bertha REVA hybrid

If you thought four fairway wood options was good, the REVA hybrid is available in five different lofts. We hope you like headcovers!

Starting at 24 degrees (4H) and increasing to 36 degrees (8H) in three-degree increments, the new Big Bertha follows REVA’s theme of eliminating that damaging big miss and increasing your distance.

Callaway say this is their easiest to launch hybrid, helped by Dual Metal-Injected Molding (MIM) Tungsten weighting in the sole and a significantly lighter T2C Carbon Crown further which further boosts forgiveness.

The larger head and increased offset are designed to help you get it square at impact for a longer, straighter and more consistent flight, while the AI Designed Flash Face SS21 and Jailbreak technology continue into the B21 hybrid.

Ease of launch is further aided by the Active Tip Flag section of the specially-designed RCH shaft. Lamkin ST grips also come as standard.

Callaway Big Bertha REVA irons

If you lack confidence and struggle for distance with your irons then this is the set for you.

Benefitting from the legendary Big Bertha profile, this is the first time Callaway have used their AI-designed Flash Face Cup in a women’s BB iron and it promises big things. The brand say each REVA iron has a unique “Flash Face architecture” which creates high ball speeds and consistent spin.

That isn’t the only ‘first’ in these irons. A Visible Tungsten Energy Core has deepened the centre of gravity, making them exceptionally easy to launch high, while Callaway’s patented urethane microspheres absorb vibrations at impact to ensure exceptional feel.

The eight REVA irons run from 5-iron (25 degrees) through to Sand Wedge (54 degrees) and include the RCH graphite shaft and Lamkin ST grips and.

REVA irons will be available from October 15, priced £1,149 (graphite only).
