Here’s what we know so far about Mizuno’s new ST200 drivers – spotted at both the ZOZO Championship and RSM Classic
After being spotted at Japan’s ZOZO Championship in the hands of Keith Mitchell, Lucas Glove and Adam Schenk, Mizuno’s upcoming ST200 driver line up was spotted once again being tested by players at last week’s RSM Classic – where the first ST200 driver went in to play.
It’s one of three new drivers – the ST200G, ST200 and ST200X – which are expected to be available to the public by Feb 2020.
This week, Erika Hara on the Japanese ladies tour is putting the ST200X driver in play for the first time.
Mizuno ST200X driver: Need to know
The ST200X is a new addition to Mizuno’s driver line up – with an overall lighter clubweight and draw biased internal weighting. Expected to suit mid and slower swing speeds – but with several tour players already liking the look of the head at address.
All three ST200 drivers feature a new Beta Ti face, which is more resilient than the previous 6-4 Ti and according to Mizuno produced greater ball speeds across the clubface in testing.
The new ST200’s follow a major turn in fortune for its metalwoods in 2019 – highlighted by Keith Mitchell’s win at the Honda Classic with the ST190.
