Callaway unveil new XR Speed Driver and Fairway

Callaway have unveiled a new XR Speed Driver and XR Speed fairway wood, which Callaway say are the longest and most forgiving clubs that have ever been introduced to the XR. 

With both a driver and fairway wood that replace the previous models in the XR series, Callaway say the XR Speed driver and fairway woods combine everything the brand know about aerodynamics and face technology to produce their longest and most forgiving XR models yet. 

Both models are available on the 8th May.

Callaway XR Speeed Driver – £339

● Lofts: 9°, 10.5° and 13.5° HT.
● Right and Left-handed options available.
● Ladies options available in 10.5° and 13.5° HT (revised cosmetic)
● Adjustability: OptiFit Hosel

The latest driver in XR driver line up features a new Carbon Composite Crown to provides a lower CG for greater forgiveness, while a new variable face thickness is engineered to give the golfer additional distance over the previous Callaway XR 16 driver.

The inclusion of a carbon composite crown on XR Speed is 45% lighter vs the XR 16
titanium crown, which significantly improves the mass properties and lowers the centre of
gravity for improved forgiveness with increased distance.

Refined aerodynamic efficiency with improved airflow over and around the head thanks to
the latest Speed Step for faster club head speeds.

One of the most premium aftermarket shafts available (used in the super-premium Epic
Driver), the Project X HZRDUS shaft is now available in the new XR Speed Driver.

Geared for more distance, the XR Speed Fairway benefits from a re-engineered Next-Gen Hyper Speed Face Cup over the previous XR fairways, which turns impact energy into an increase in ball speed across the whole face. Meanwhile, a refined Speed Step promotes faster swing speeds with no additional effort.

Callaway have also made forgiveness a key feature of their latest XR Speed fairway, making it playable for all levels of golf thanks to a new shallow face deisgn that is coupled with with their Hawkeye sole configuration.
