At golf clinic, Tiger was spotted with more than just one club make in his bag – but what were they?
While much of the talk over the past few days have been about Tiger Woods hitting shots with a wedge and then at a golf clinic with Kevin Chappell – there was also one man who noticed the clubs Tiger were using didn’t all look like TaylorMade clubs.
When Woods signed his multi-year deal with TaylorMade in January, it came with a plan for Woods to design a set of irons specifically for him. While there has been little mention of it since, the new irons in his bag – stamped with his TGR branding – have caused a big buzz with speculation.
Kevin roman, director of Instruction at MPCC, snapped a close-up of Woods’s bag while he was taking part in a clinic at the Tiger Woods Invitational at Monterey Peninsula Country Club.
Lets take a closer look at those irons… it’s unclear whether the TGR stamped irons are rebranded with his logo or if they are a new prototype.
According to the PGA Tour’s Equipment expert Jonathan Wall – this is what he currently has in his bag. Full article here
“Based on the photos, Woods is currently using TaylorMade’s PSi cavity-back, Tour Preferred UDI driving iron, and a set of prototype blades with his “TGR” logo stamped on the muscle pad. The prototype appears to have a very similar shape and look to the Nike VR Pro Blade model Woods used for a portion his time with the Swoosh.
In addition to the new TaylorMade clubs and prototype blades, Woods also had TaylorMade woods and two Nike VR Forged wedges (56 and 60 degrees) in the bag.”
