Callaway reveal Steelhead XR fairway woods

Callaway have revealed their latest Steelhead XR Fairway Woods, which they say are ‘a modern and powerful interpretation of the iconic shape of the original Steelhead’

Callaway’s original Steelhead were one of the most popular fairway’s the companies ever produced, so it should be no surprise they’ve decided to bring them back laden with modern technology.

Hawkeye soles made the original Steelheads famously easy to launch high off the turf, so Callaway’s engineers have been inspired to create a refined version to reduce turf friction and promote a cleaner, squarer contact more often.

There’s also a new J-36 carbon crown which saves 20g over the previous Callaway Steelhead XR fairway. It allows engineers to create a low forward centre of gravity making the XR easy to launch with low spin.

Ball speed protection is massively improved over the original thanks to face cup technology, a speed step crown improves aerodynamics and of course all that techs wrapped up in an iconic head shape that millions of golfers have loved before.
