Laser Rangefinder Buying Guide: We’ve narrowed it down to our top 5 laser rangefinders of 2017
Whether your looking for a rangefinder that is excellent value, has a sleek design or has the most up to date tech- you’ve come to the right place.
Each of our five laser rangefinders can be used in competitions, fit neatly in your hand and will give you the most accurate distances to the flag.
So which 2017 laser rangefinders made our list?
Bushnell Tour V4 Shift: RRP £339
Tech always seems to move at a slower pace when it comes to rangefinders, but Bushnell insists the Tour Shift’s a giant leap forward as it produces slope adjusted distances at the flick of a switch.
With the slope function turned off on the Bushnell Tour V4 Shift, it does ecome legal for competition use. It’s also 30% smaller and faster than the previous Tour V3.
Bushnell Pro X2: RRP £449
Waterproofing isn’t the first thing most golfers think about when buying a rangefinder. Well, that’s until you pull yours from its case after a downpour and its viewfinder is misted and un-usable.
Bushnell say the X2 metal casing is completely waterproof, and its capable of toggling between slope adjusted and standard distances, which is invaluable for practice rounds.
Callaway Hybrid: RRP £329
Having a GPS for longer shots and a rangefinder for accurate approaches sounds like the perfect GPS and Rangefinder set up, but it’s expensive buying two systems.
Callaway’s Hybrid gets over the issue by combining a GPS inside the rangefinder to give you the best of both worlds. Genius.
Golf Buddy LR7: RRP £249.99
If like most golfers you primarily use a rangefinder inside 150 yards, you don’t have to spend an absolute fortune to get your accurate distances.
The Golf Buddy LR7 is a simple no nonsense affair that is water resistant, legal for tournament play (as there’s no slop function) and its soft ergonomic body is designed for a stable grip.
Nikon Coolshoot 80 VR: RRP £379.99
Nikon are experts when it comes to lenses and optics, so it’s no surprise their latest rangefinder features ‘vibration reduction’ to reduce hand shake when you’re trying to pin point the flag.
The Nikon Coolshot 80 VR doesn’t give you slope adjusted distances (the 80i does for just £419.99) which means it is leagal for tournament play. Not to mention it also a compact and reliable unit!
