Whereas the soles of other wedges are hand polished (which means inconsistency and variation between heads), the soles and grinds of the new Milled Grind wedges are all created by CNC Milling, just like a premium putter.
TaylorMade’s Clay Long who’s worked with the best players in the world (including Jack Nicklaus) on head shapes for over 35 years has been responsible for perfecting every head shape and sole grind.
And he reckons the new milling process guarantees 100% accuracy between each head which ultimately means tour players and club golfers get exactly the same sole grind and shape every time.

At a glance tech:
CNC Milled sole
Every sole is CNC Milled eliminating hand polishing, ensuring 100% consistency between each wedge that’s produced.
New ZTP 17 Spin Grooves
Sharper radius and steeper side walls maximise spin on shorter half shots. There’s also an extra face groove (17 instead of the usual 16) so you get more grooves on the ball with every shot.
PWP Hosel
A “precision weight port” in the hosel removes 10g of weight which has meant TaylorMade’s engineers have shifted the CG 3.2mm towards the centre of the face.
Classic blade shape
Clay Long has 35 years-experience of working with the world’s best players, he’s refined the profile, leading edge and sole geometry on every loft and grind.
