Ping reveal new Sigma G putters

Ping reveal new Sigma G putters.

Ping have had a serious rethink of their putter offering for 2017.

And what they’ve come up with encompasses everything they’ve learnt about putter design over the years with plenty of new insert, groove and roll technology.

A new aluminium face insert is teamed with milled variable width and depth grooves across the whole face which normalize ball speeds no matter where putts hit the face. Which for every day golfers means extra distance consistency which Ping say will help reduce your three putt percentage.

As the aluminium insert’s lighter than steel there’s also a jump in MOI performance, so off centre hits should finish closer to your target.

The 16 model range includes blade, mallet, MOI mallets and two counter-balanced options along with a platinum or black nickel finish so there’s a solution for everyone.

RRP: from £175 (adjustable shaft £24 upcharge)

At a glance tech:

6061 aluminium face insert

A new 6061 aluminium face insert is backed with elastomer, to maximise feel and give a pleasing sound. Aluminium’s lighter so weight’s removed from the face, meaning the MOI and resistance to twisting is improved.

Variable depth and width face milling

A clever milling pattern means off centre putts don’t lose ball speed like a normal putter. Improving distance control and Ping say lowering your 3-putt percentage.

Match the putter to your stroke

Ping are big into fitting across the board and putters are no exception. Each Sigma G model is classified as suiting either a Strong arc, Slight arc or Straight putting stroke so you can better pick a putter to suit your stroke.

Dark or light, you decide

Putter cosmetics are really important and one option rarely satisfies everyone. To ensure across the board appeal the Sigma G come in a platinum or black nickel finish.

Grip choice

Sigma G come with the choice of a lightweight mid-size, over-sized or counter-balanced pistol shaped grip, so you can personalise your flatstick to your own preference.
