The ultimate putting green that lets you try out Augusta National

The world’s first computer-controlled putting green is one of our favourite techy product launches of 2016.

It’s been designed because Zen’s tour putting coach, Nick Middleton, believed only one in 100 putts is dead straight, so he questions why golfers practise on a flat surface. Zen’s Green is 16ft in length and offers up to 12% variation in rise and fall slopes.

Five drills for better putting with Ken Brown

At the touch of a button you can practise breaking and double-breaking putts until your hands bleed.

You even get to choose what speed the green runs at – 8.5, 10, 12.5 or a lightning 15 on the stimpmeter, which is quicker than Augusta National!

Unless your name is Rory McIlroy or Jordan Spieth, you probably won’t be investing in one for your own personal pleasure as this tech isn’t cheap.

But when it comes to putting lessons – and buying the perfect flat stick for your stroke – there couldn’t be a better, more consistent surface to learn and practise on.

Zen are currently programming the green to recreate some of the toughest putts in world golf.

Replicating the hardest putts holed to win Majors, sounds like a whole lot of fun for an evening of “this to win The Masters” action.
