FootJoy reveal new Pro/SL shoes

Spikeless shoes have made some serious strides forward over recent years. And many golfers have realised the extra comfort spikeless shoes bring to the golf course. But under certain conditions some can be found wanting when it comes to traction and stability.

FootJoy reveal new Pro/SL shoes

There’s still plenty of tour pro’s who prefer spiked shoes over spikeless and even a handful who prefer metal spikes over soft, so it goes without saying when the likes of Lee Westwood, Adam Scott, Louis Oosthuizen and Andrew “Beef Johnston all choose to put the new spikeless FootJoy Pro/SL on their feet you know they’re going to be good. FootJoy reckon the two different types of Fine Tuned Foam (FTF) used in the sole of the Pro/SL are 10% lighter than conventional foams. And they’ve spent years developing the materials and understanding how to marry the two densities to create a shoe that’s comfortable all day long but still offers great perimeter stability for support during the swing. All that stability and comfort is teamed with a new outsole to enhance traction, as there’s more points of ground contact throughout the golf swing. A Pittards Chromoskin leather upper tops off an excellent all round tour calibre shoe.

FootJoy say world number six Adam Scott first tested the Pro/SL in the rock hard conditions of the 2015 US Open at Chambers Bay and the soft wet turf at St Andrews for The Open. And he reckoned the shoes performed brilliantly on both surfaces. He’s been wearing the shoes ever since and with a few revisions FootJoy now reckon they’ve created their tour staff and you a better performing golf shoe.

Expect to see the Pro/SL appearing in in golf shops from 1st February 2017, with an RRP of £140 (laced model) or £155 (Boa lace less closure system). For further information visit www.footjoy.co.uk.
