Nike reveal new Flyknit Elite shoes

Golf shoes aren’t just golf shoes anymore, in fact if you believe what the top shoe manufacturers are saying golf shoes are rapidly changing into launch pads.
Nike reckon a proper golf swing is built from the ground up. And their engineers believe a flat stable front foot when combined with a torqueing back foot during a golf swing can enhance power, accuracy and consistency.
So to facilitate better footwork and generate maximum power, Nike designers have created what they call Articulated Integrated Traction. The ideas been developed via research and athlete testing, and the all-new idea decouples the heel and forefoot to help propel the athlete through the swing. “When our team of designers started creating what would become Articulated Integrated Traction we factored in foot performance through every aspect of the swing,” explains Gentry Humphrey, VP Nike Golf Footwear. “We also considered the various surfaces and angles a golfer has to play through each and every round and worked hard to create traction that performs in every condition.”
So whats new? Well theres new channels on the sole which flex with the foot to allow for better balance whilst keeping you lower to the ground. There’s also a new finned tread design which is much like a football boot which offers continuous traction whilst replacing traditional spikes without sacrificing grip.
The new tech debuts on Nike’s new Flyknit Elite. The extra traction is paired with a full-length Lunarlon midsole for responsive cushioning and a lightweight, breathable one-piece Flyknit upper. Nike’s Dynamic Flywire support system also locks down the midfoot throughout the motion of the swing to help you reach your power potential.
The Elite’s will be available in two colorways (pure platinum/cool grey and black/clear jade) from June 16 at nike.com and select retailers, expect an RRP of £220.
