TaylorMade reveal new high MOI OS putters
Last updated:
MOI is talked about a lot in golf, and engineers are forever spouting how raising MOI in drivers and irons increases forgiveness and playability. But MOI isn’t quite so readily talked about when it comes to putters. Especially not when it comes to classically styled blades.
Well TaylorMade reckon MOI’s got a big roll to play in helping you hole more putts. So its developed three new larger OS putters to help deliver higher MOI on the short grass. A new lightweight back insert allows mass to be removed from ineffective parts of the head and repositioned to expand the sweetspot, and boost MOI. The extra size also means easier alignment, and thanks to the red colour of the new lightweight back insert it also acts a great alignment aid too. There’s also a soft vertically milled 6061 aluminum face insert which TaylorMade say reduces backspin and promotes a softer feel. Thanks to their being three models (Daytona-36deg, Monte Carlo-20deg, Spider-Face Balanced) you also get a choice of three different toe hang options so there’s a model to suit any putting stroke.
Taylormade are also big fans of counter-balancing so they’re making the OS available as three counter-balanced models. The OS CB’s are even larger in size and thanks to the counter-balancing tech TaylorMade say they’ll give even more help to stabilize and smooth out a wonky putting stroke.
The OS models come with a Superstroke Mid-Slim 2.0 grip and will be available in 33”, 34” and 35” lengths. While the OS CB’s will come as standard with a Superstroke XL-R 130g counter-balance grip and you get a choice of 34.5”, 36” and 38” lengths. Expect to see these arriving instore in March with an RRP’s of £179 OS and £199 OS CB. For further information visit www.taylormadegolf.com
