Tiger Woods signs golf ball endorsement deal with Bridgestone Golf

Tiger Woods has signed a multi-year deal to exclusively play the Bridgestone B330-S ball.

The 14-time Major Champion put the ball, the same currently played by Matt Kuchar, into play at the Hero World Challenge and will be playing the same version of the B330-S that will soon be available for you to buy and put in your bag.

“Finding the right golf ball is extremely important. It’s an essential part of my equipment, and the Bridgestone B330S ball is hands-down the best for my game,” Woods said.

“Controlling launch and trajectory is critical, and with this ball I feel I have total control to hit all shots accurately.

“Bridgestone wants to make golf easier for everyone, knowing that every golfer’s game and swing is unique, it works to match each individual with the best ball for his or her game.”

Bridgestone say the B330S, which was introduced in early 2016, is a three-piece ball created for golfers with a driver clubhead speed of more than 105 mph.

The ball is six percent larger than the previous model and its core is firmer toward the outer portions.

The Bridgestone says that smaller, inner-dimples on the urethane cover help reduce drag, so shots fly higher and ball speed is maintained to help increase distance.

Woods will be a “focal point” for Bridgestone Golf going forward, according to Corey Consuegra, Bridgestone’s senior director of marketing.

“Not only will he have the ability to play our current B330-S model,” Consuegra said, “he will be with us long enough that he can influence the future direction of our tour product and maybe products for all skill levels.

“We were essentially told to let Tiger put it through the wringer. That’s how he chooses to test.

“He wants to know if the golf ball will perform on every shot in a way that he expects. If it doesn’t, he will select something else.

“He’s said that he’s coming back not just to play but to win. We expect that he’s going to succeed in what he’s calling Phase Two and we’re excited to be a part of it.”
