Bettinardi unveil super sleek BB and Inovai putters
Last updated:
Bettinardi’s certainly not a household name like Scotty Cameron when it comes to putters in the UK. But here at TG we were seriously impressed when we tested his range of blade and mallet flatsticks as part of our 2016 Top Gear Test. If you don’t know Bob Bettinardi’s a putter milling magician, some of his creations are so special they could be considered art, and with tour players like Matt Kuchar and Ryder Cup Captain Darren Clarke buying into his precision milling concept we reckon there’s never been a better time to give them a look.
For 2016 there’s a couple of new ranges on the market, and if you’re seduced by a cracking putter creation, you can now get a proper fitting here in the UK.
The new BB Series is made up of 3 toe and heel weighted blades and a face balanced mallet model. All are inspired by classic tour-proven models, and Bettinardi says they benefit from enhanced aesthetics and a super sleek midnight black finish. Each putter face bears the traditional Bettinardi Hyper-Honeycomb milling pattern which Bettinardi reckons makes his putter face flatter than any other. There’s also a brushed nickel stepless shaft which reduces glare and improves feel and feedback along with a super soft Lamkin grip.
Bettinardi’s development didn’t just stop at the traditional blade and mallet either. He’s also come up with a new Inovai 3.0 range, which he describes as the perfect MOI putter. This mallet range combines aluminium faces with stainless steel bodies and sole weighting to generate great feel but with a huge MOI performance, meaning the effects of mishits are reduced. Expect the heel and centre shafted models to promote a stable stroke and if you want to go counter balance you get to choose a length from 36” to 40”.
Prices start from £239 for the BB Series and £249 for the Inovai 3.0, for further information and to find a fitter visit www.bettinardi.co.uk
