First look at The Inspiration Club: London’s ‘modern links’ golf course!
Last updated:
Join us for a first look at the stunning Inspiration Club, with London’s newest golf course set to open on June 1.
Finding the best links golf courses normally requires a trip to Scotland or, at the very least, England’s beautiful coastlines, but all of that is set to change later this year with the launch of The Inspiration Club, described as ‘a modern links in the city’.
Situated on the A40, just 10 miles from the bright lights of the West End and five miles from Junction 16 on the M25, The Inspiration Club is perfectly positioned for golfers wanting a round before or after work in the City.
It will be the third golf course in the growing portfolio of the Mendai-Davis family-owned Bridgedown Golf Group, joining The Shire –designed by Seve Ballesteros, The West London Golf Centre and The Inspiration Club. The family has a proven track record of creating world-class, inclusive and affordable golf experiences with a fourth course – the highly-anticipated Legacy course – scheduled to open in 2025.
“We wanted to ensure that we had the right designer to create our vision and the result is a golf course unlike anything London has ever seen – a modern style links,“ said director Tony Menai-Davis.
“To experience the shapes of the greens and run-offs we have here you would normally have to travel to the coast. The Inspiration offers the drama of the absolute best courses in the UK in sight of the capital. We are incredibly proud of The Inspiration and cannot wait to open in June.”
Renowned links golf experts Mackenzie & Ebert joined the Menai-Davis team to work on the Inspiration project in 2020 and their influence can be clearly seen. The 6,610-yard golf course boasts dramatically shaped USGA-spec greens, averaging 550 square meters and seeded with pure distinction bent grass. This seeding quality is only found at a handful of venues and gives the purest roll. And an initial investment of over £700,000 has been made in the bunkering alone, further underlining the impact of the links golf specialists.
“This has been an exciting, enjoyable and unique project and, if we have done our job well, then the same should apply to playing the course. We hope that following a first trip around the course, golfers of all standards will want to return with their friends,” commented Tom Mackenzie.
The Inspiration Club is poised to carry forward the commitment to excellence that has characterized its sister club, The Shire London. As well as meticulously maintained greens, fairways, and surrounds The Menai-Davis family’s approach to golf fosters an enjoyable, and relaxing atmosphere where everyone is welcome.
