Disneyland for golfers has opened in Florida

With four golf courses and some seriously unique features, Cabot Citrus Farms has to feature on your bucket list of must-plays.
The team at Cabot Collection are on a bit of a roll right now. After acquiring Lofoten Links, they now have three courses in our World Top 100 list, with another – Cabot St Lucia – almost certainly set to join this year.
Much of our excitement had centered on the opening of Cabot Highlands in Inverness this summer, but that was before we clapped eyes on the 57 holes that have just opened up at Cabot Citrus Farms in Florida.
Previously known as the World Woods Golf Club, the 1,200-acre property is home to two 18-hole courses — Roost and Karoo — originally built by Tom Fazio and now reimagined with an extra layer of creativity.

Central to that vision is an ‘adventure golf’ masterpiece – the Karoo course – with alternate fairways, multiple routes to pins, and “the largest sandscapes you’ve ever seen.”
The second 18-hole golf course, the Roost, is a little more traditional and takes its name from the wild turkeys that roam beneath the moss-draped trees and across the sandy scrubland.
The actual design takes inspiration from Augusta National and is perhaps most notable for the 50 feet of elevation changes, as well as a 40-foot-deep sinkhole on the back nine.
To complete the unique experience, designer Mike Nuzzo has created a dynamic 10-hole loop with half-par holes, in addition to a new floodlit, par 3 course with speakers and 11 holes ranging from 70 yards to 115 yards.
All told, it will cost you upwards of $360 to play all four courses, but we think you’ll do well to find better variety!
