TECH TALK The long irons feature a pocket cavity for more forgiveness and distance. The middle irons have a split cavity meant to help workability with a touch of stability on off-centre hits. The blade-like short irons are designed for distance control. A new X3X groove pattern (more grooves that are deeper and spaced closer together) meets the new groove regulation.

HOT Nike’s original Pro Combo line (three iron types in one set) debuted in 2002. We liked the idea then, but we like it even more now as technology has allowed engineers to more precisely design clubs for specific shots.
NOT Those looking at this set have to know their limitations: You need talented hands to handle the muscle-back short irons.
