TECH TALK Built on the same “lighter, longer” platform as the rest of Cleveland’s metalwood line, the Mashie features a superlight Miyazaki shaft that’s one-fourth of an inch longer than standard to help players increase clubhead speed. Two sole rails help reduce turf interaction and make the club more playable from various lies.

HOT Simple but effective, the Mashie has surprisingly good feel and performance – even for slow swingers. The generous loft options should make it more popular.
NOT There’s nothing sexy about the “retro raw” finish. It looks like the club is missing a paint job.
