The charismatic Australian held off World No.1 Scottie Scheffler and a charging Rory McIlroy to claim his first PGA Tour win at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.
Lee’s overnight four-shot lead proved just enough to see him home at the Memorial Park Golf Course, sealing the title when his lag putt from the back fringe rolled to within a few inches.
“It’s hard — it’s really hard,” Lee said. “Obviously, Scottie is a wonderful golfer and he keeps you on your toes. The first time being in front, I’m glad I got it done. I’m very exhausted. It was a lot of mental grind. I’m so proud of how I handled myself.”
Min Woo Lee’s previous victory had come at the start of 2024 in Brisbane at the Fortinet Australian PGA Championships, backing up his Asian Tour victory just weeks earlier at the SJM Macao Open.
The 25-year-old shot a tournament record of 30-under par en route to victory on home soil, and was able to enjoy a somewhat processional walk down the 18th with his entire family watching on.

The title was Lee’s second Down Under, his first coming early in 2020 at the ISPS Handa Vic Open which also represented his first DP World Tour win.
The biggest scalp of his career to date, however, came at the Scottish Open in 2021, defeating Matt Fitzpatrick and Thomas Detry to claim the prestigious Rolex Series event.

A T5 finish at the US Open represents his best finish in a Major to date, and if early 2024 season form is anything to go by, few would be surprised to see the Australian challenging for the game’s biggest prizes before long.
After all, there is Major-winning pedigree in the Lee family already with US Open and Evian Championship Minjee Lee setting the benchmark for her younger brother. The pair became the first brother and sister to win the USGA’s Junior Championships.

With 400,000 Instagram followers already, the Australian is developing into one of the game’s great entertainers and will undoubtedly be one to keep a close eye on throughout the 2024 season.
Min Woo Lee is a Callaway Tour Staffer and games a full bag of the brand’s products with the odd Titleist wedge or two. Let’s take a look at which models the Aussie is carrying into 2025.

What golf shoes does Min Woo Lee wear?
Min Woo Lee wears FootJoy Premiere Series golf shoes.
Best looking FootJoy golf shoe

For all the traditional styling, Premiere is packed with innovation and ooze luxury thanks to hand-picked leather, calfskin detailing, and sheepskin lining. The Premiere is fully waterproof and the leather is surprisingly easy to keep clean.
The Premiere comes in 12 percent lighter than the popular DryJoys Tour, helped by the new VersaTrax+ outsole. The ‘anti-channeling tread pattern’ gave me excellent traction across the entire shoe and I never felt any risk of slipping.
I like how FJ mixed harder and softer TPU compounds to make the shoe as grippy and comfortable on hard surfaces as it is on the course.
I was impressed by the performance and overall comfort. FootJoy’s Ortholite FitBed, which gradually shapes to your foot, works brilliantly and is seriously clever tech.
