What golf clubs and ball does Leona Maguire use? Today’s Golfer reviews what’s in the bag of the first Irish winner on the Ladies European Tour
Leona Maguire is a two-time winner on the LPGA Tour and a victor on the Ladies European Tour (LET). Maguire became the first Irish national to win on the LPGA Tour when she emerged victorious at the 2022 LPGA Drive On Championship on her 50th LPGA Tour start.
A second LPGA Tour win followed in 2023 with a two-stroke victory at the Meijer LPGA Classic. The County Cavan hero also became the first Irishwoman to win on the LET when she sealed victory at the 2024 Aramco Team Series – London.
Maguire had a glittering amateur career, she held the record for the most weeks at the top of the World Amateur Golf Rankings (135), receiving the Mark H. McCormack Medal three years running – that record has since been broken by American, Rose Zhang (142 weeks).
The Irishwoman has further impressive credentials on her resume, holding the record for the lowest ever score in the final round of a Major championship (61), and broke the all-time rookie points records in either the Solheim or Ryder Cup with a total of 4.5 points.
Let’s dive into what’s in the bag of Leona Maguire.
What driver does Leona Maguire use?
Leona Maguire uses a Ping G430 LST driver (10.5°) with a Graphite Design Tour AD HD-5 shaft
The G430 LST is a good option for amateur golfers who need to lower their spin or for golfers with good ball-striking abilities because the sweet spot isn't as large in the LST as it is in the other G430 heads. Luckily, that isn't something Maguire has to worry about.
