What’s In The Bag: Keegan Bradley

What golf clubs and ball does Keegan Bradley use? We review what’s in the bag of the Major Champion, seven-time PGA Tour winner and 2025 Ryder Cup captain.

Jump To: Keegan Bradley’s WITB

The 2025 USA Ryder Cup captain made it three wins in as many years on the PGA Tour as he flew in under the radar at the BMW Championship to win the FedEx Cup playoff event on 12-under-par and secure the $3.6 million winner’s cheque.

Today's Golfer What's In The Bag is brought to you in association with Callaway Chrome Tour and Chrome Tour X golf balls.

Bradley snuck into the field at Castle Pines as the last man, but left as the first, propelling up to fourth in the FedEx Cup standings ahead of the season finale at East Lake.

Keegan Bradley wins the 2024 BMW Championship

Just over a year beforehand, the American secured his sixth win on the PGA Tour, breaking the Travelers Championship scoring record (-23), en-route to a commanding three-shot victory at TPC River Highlands, Connecticut.

The win, which saw Bradley collect another $3.6m was made all the more impressive considering that just a week earlier, Bradley had missed the cut at the US Open by four strokes.

Keegan Bradley wins Travelers Championship 2023

His three tour wins since 2022 including the Zoro Championship suggest that Bradley is building back to the form that took him to a career-high of 10 in the world rankings back in 2013.

Bradley is also a US PGA Championship winner (2011), and remains only the third golfer after Francis Ouimet (1913) and Ben Curtis (2013), to claim a Major on his first attempt. He was also the first Major Champion to win with a long putter.

Keegan Bradley will aim to win his second PGA Championship having previously lifted the trophy in 2011.

Keegan Bradley is a long-term Srixon staff player and uses the brand’s ZX5/ZX7 irons and a Z-Star ball, along with additions from Ping, TaylorMade, and Odyssey. Let’s take a closer look at what’s in the bag of Keegan Bradley in 2024.

WITB Keegan Bradley:

What driver does Keegan Bradley use?

Keegan Bradley uses a TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus driver (10.5°) with a Fujikura Ventus Balck 6X shaft

Best for total distance
Price: £529.00 / $629.99 RRP
Having previously been using the Ping G430 LST driver, Bradley now opts for the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus as his driver of choice. It's not the first time Bradley has opted for TaylorMade in the big stick department, with the M2 (10.5°) part of his winning bag at the 2018 BMW Championship, where he beat Justin Rose in a playoff.

Driving performance off the tee is a solid and usually dependable part of Bradley's game. Following his victory at the Travelers, Bradley sat comfortably above the field averages across all aspects of driving performance, notably ranking 38th for shots gained off the tee (0.30). While not considered one of the game's longest hitters, Bradley still averages 302.1 yards for driving distance (77th), hitting 60% of fairways (85th).

The Stealth 2 Plus was our longest 2023 driver for total distance (307 yards) during our in-house testing and featured in our best low spin drivers 2023. It is therefore unsurprising why those pros looking to secure as many yards as possible, like Bradley, opt for TaylorMade's lowest-spinning driver.

  • Produces exceptionally fast ball speeds
  • Our longest 2023 driver for total distance

Cons

  • Not the most forgiving low-spin driver

Bradley has dialed down the loft on his SIM2 MAX fairway wood to 15.75°, a change of just over half a degree from the TaylorMade M4 (16.5°) he used in 2018 en route to his 2018 BMW Championship win.

When this club is firing for Bradley, the scoring seems to follow.

He climbed to 13th for approach shots between 225 to 250 yards (finishing an average of 47 feet from the flag), following his success at the Travelers in 2023. He also moved inside the top 20 for proximity to the flag for all approaches over 200 yards, which obviously allows for more regular looks at birdie and the odd eagle.

If you want to hit your fairway woods as far as possible, because extra distance means shorter approaches into par 5s, you absolutely cannot ignore the SIM2 Max. Our test pro Neil was completely blown away by its performance during our testing of the best fairway woods 2023. So much so, if it was Neil’s decision, the SIM2 Max would be our sole fairway wood of the year.

Bradley also carries a Callaway UW (19°) hybrid with a Project X EvenFlow Hybrid 95 6.5TX shaft.

Bradley signed a multi-year contract extension back in 2014 to remain a member of the Cleveland Golf and Srixon PGA Tour staff. Todd Harman, President of Cleveland Golf/Srixon, once described Bradley as "the type of brand ambassador any organization would be thrilled to have."

When it comes to strokes gained from approaches to the green, Bradley typically performs above the field average and ranked 53rd (0.31) following his win at the Travelers in 2023. His standout statistic in this area is proximity from between 125-150 yards where he tops the rankings, finishing on average less than 19 feet from the hole.

He currently uses a combination of Srixon ZX5 and ZX7 irons, having previously used Z745s. We’ve rated Srixon irons very highly for many years. They have won numerous awards in our tests, and tend to be held in very high esteem amongst forged iron aficionados.

ZX5 - A player’s distance iron that offers forgiveness where it counts (in the mid and long irons) and control where you need it (short irons). A razor-sharp chassis gives a premium forged feel right along alongside the ball speed-enhancing tech that lots of club golfers crave.

ZX7 - A forged iron aimed at the lower handicap range. Srixon says the ZX7’s new Tour Cavity subtly shifts mass to the perimeter of the head whilst also concentrating mass behind the sweet spot. The idea gives slight assistance on off-center strikes, a soft feel, and the sort of workability that’s demanded by the world’s best players.

Pros

  • Progressive grooves provide reliable performance across the lofts
  • An impressive blend of distance with forgiveness
  • The ability to mix and max irons from different sets will appeal to many

Cons

  • The ZX5s may offer too much distance for very good players

Bradley has been a long-term Cleveland RTX wedge player, carrying a 52° and 58°.

Around the green is perhaps the area of Bradley's game that lacks consistency. His statistics following victory at the Travelers show he performs as well as anyone from the fringe, however, he sits considerably below the field average when it comes to sand saves and scrambling from the rough, getting up and down only 45% and 51% of the time respectively.

Cleveland are wedge legends, and the ZipCore is just the most recent step in a very long line of brilliant models. You really can’t go wrong with them, we love the ZipCore’s straight leading edge and the brilliant feel and feedback. Each groove is closer (7.4%) so there are two more grooves per face. The grooves are also deeper than ever so they’re better at channeling away debris, as well as being 11% sharper to maximize spin on every single shot.

Bradley has been a loyal advocate of Odyssey's Versa technology putters, previously using the Versa 1W Red Arm Lock putter. He now opts for the Jailbird model, which is not part of Odyssey's latest Versa family. It does however remain a popular choice today by several pros including Rickie Fowler and Wynham Clark.

Putting is a strong component of Bradley's game, where he consistently ranks towards the top of the field for strokes gained (0.46), cemented by his victory at the Travelers in 2023. He typically averages 1.7 putts per hole, taking 28.5 putts per round, and is highly proficient when it comes to 3-putt avoidance. Bradley puts his success with the flat stick down to the AimPoint putting technique that allows him to feel the slopes in the green with his feet.

Odyssey's major-winning Versa technology has dominated Tours all over the World. The black and white high contrast alignment system helps golfers with their alignment at address and through your stroke. It highlights the proper face angle and improves concentration, so you make more putts.

Keegan Bradley won the 2023 Travelers Championship with a Srixon Z-Star ball, finishing on 23-under par.

Srixon is perhaps most well-known within golf for its amateur range of golf balls. However, they do make some incredible tour standard golf balls as well. The Z-Star range of golf balls is aimed at golfers with quick swing speeds, mainly targeting tour players and better players. Perhaps Srixon golf's biggest victory came at the 2021 Masters where Hideki Matsuyama won playing the Z-Star XV.

Arguably the biggest star playing a Srixon golf ball is 2023 PGA champion Brooks Koepka, who plays the Z-Star diamond. The Z-Star range of golf balls is capable of competing with any of the best tour standard golf balls. If you struggle to see your golf balls or line up your putts you can purchase the Z-Star Divide which is half yellow, half white.

What golf shoes does Keegan Bradley wear?

Keegan Bradley wears Nike Jordan golf shoes

Best iconic Nike shoe
Price: £159.95 / $185.00 RRP
An avid golfer and six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan brought the World's most iconic sports shoe onto the fairways following a round good with good friend and fellow South Floridan, Bradley back in 2014.

Bradley recalled saying to the Chicago Bulls star how he'd love to wear Jordans, which rather timely coincided with MJ's aspirations to start making shoes for golf.

The design and innovation process was not that straightforward with years of trial and error before something fitting for a player of Bradley's quality was ready for tour action.

Bradley jokes "Of all the stuff I’ve done, the most recognition I get from fans is about my shoes. It’s insane. Every hole, somebody says something.

There are a lot of big Jordan guys out here on Tour who love ‘em. There are also guys who think they’re ridiculous and I look stupid. But I think that’s great. Any sort of commotion you can cause is really good."

What golf apparel does Keegan Bradley wear?

Keegan Bradley wears TravisMathew golf apparel

Best for relaxed look
Price: £79.99 / $99.95 RRP
Keegan Bradley signed a multi-year apparel contract with TravisMathew in 2015 after his previous deal with Tommy Hilfiger expired. Bradley does continue to wear golf shoes made by Nike's Air Jordan brand, however.

Founded in 2007, TravisMathew draws its inspiration from the culture and lifestyle of Southern California’s surf, sand, and sun.

This Beachside Stealth polo lives up to that billing with its camo pattern and hidden palm trees to create an easy laid-back look. Like all products in the TravisMathew range, this polo strikes a balance between functional comfort and superior style, enabling it to work off the course too.

Constructed in an eco-fabric, the shirt is soft, durable, quick-drying, and perhaps most importantly for golf, has good moisture-dispersing qualities. We appreciated the signature collar stay technology and wrinkle-resistant technology that kept the polo in shape throughout the round. It is finished with the TravisMathew logo on the left chest and a three-button placket.
