What’s in the bag of four-time PGA Tour Winner and Ryder Cup rookie Daniel Berger?

Having become a free agent in 2020, Daniel Berger has chopped and change in his search for a perfectly balanced golf bag.

He reverted to his high-school irons, the TaylorMade TP MC 11s, a decision which paid off with him winning the Charles Schwab Challenge Trophy in 2020 and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at the start of 2021.

Like many players who aren’t bound by a contract, the 28-year-old’s equipment is all about what performs best for him rather than what’s new, with the majority of his bag made up of previous generation clubs.

At the top end he has been a long-time user of Titleist’s TS3 driver but, in recent weeks, has been playing TaylorMade’s SIM driver.

Berger has enjoyed a fine season with a further eight top-10s on top of his victory at Pebble, so it’s little surprise that he was named among Team USA captain Steve Stricker’s six picks for the match at Whistling Straits where he will make his Ryder Cup debut.
