What’s In The Bag: Amy Yang
Last updated:
Today’s Golfer takes a look inside the bag of Amy Yang, who plays on both the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour.
Amy Yang grew up in South Korea and started playing golf at the age of 10. Her family moved to Australia five years later to allow her to focus on her golf career.
In 2006, Yang won the ANZ Ladies Masters tournament on the Ladies European Tour, making her the youngest winner of an LET event at the time, at just 16 years and 192 days.
The LET then offered Yang a three-year membership exemption, and she recorded four top-20 finishes in 2007 while still attending school.
In December 2008, Yang earned her LPGA tour card for 2009 at Qualifying School, and has five tour victories to date. She has had 85 career top-ten finishes, and 20 top-ten finishes in LPGA major tournaments between 2006 and 2023.
Amy Yang has had 10 professional wins across the LPGA of Japan, European, and LPGA Tours. She won her first major, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, in 2024. It was her 77th start in a major tournament.
