Nike Infinity Tour 2 GORE-TEX Golf Shoes

from American Golf

What we say...

Can Nike’s flagship winter golf shoe do what it says on the tin and does the GORE-TEX actually keep the water out?

Nike has long been a game-changer in sports footwear, and golf is no exception. While the brand may be best known for its dominance in running, basketball, and football, Nike Golf has carved out a reputation for making some of the best golf shoes, blending cutting-edge technology with modern style. When Tiger Woods famously switched to Nike golf shoes in 1996, it signaled a shift—not just in sponsorship but in performance-driven design that could compete with and even surpass the traditional golf shoe giants.

Fast forward to today, and Nike continues to lead the way in comfort and style, creating golf shoes that feel as good as they look. Their designs take cues from their popular running and basketball sneakers, making them stand out both on the course and in the clubhouse.

Enter the Nike Infinity Tour 2 GORE-TEX, a shoe designed for golfers who don’t let bad weather keep them off the course. Combining Nike’s signature cushioning with industry-leading waterproofing, this is one of my favorite winter golf shoes providing comfort, stability, and durability when you need it most.

More importantly, they don’t just look the part—they perform under the toughest conditions and thats why they are one of the best golf boots on the market. Whether it’s their spikeless models designed for versatility or their high-traction, weatherproof options built for the winter months, Nike Golf offers something for every player.

But does it live up to the hype? After putting it through its paces, I can confidently say this is one of the best winter golf shoes I’ve ever worn. Here’s why.

Comfort: 4/5

The shoe provides an excellent fit around the ankle and heel, ensuring a secure feel during play. However, after a full round, I noticed slight rubbing on my toe. For those with wider feet, a broader fit is available, but it’s something to be aware of if you have larger feet.

That said, sizing isn’t an issue, as the shoe is available in an impressive range from US 3.5 to 16, including half sizes. My first round in them at Royal West Norfolk took nearly five hours, and aside from the minor toe rubbing, the comfort level was impressive. Subsequent rounds confirmed the shoe’s consistency in delivering underfoot support and ankle stability.

Walking in these shoes feels like bouncing down the fairway, thanks to the foam sole that provides ample cushioning, much like a Nike running shoe. There’s no resistance or vibration through the sole, ensuring a smooth ridee. The padded collar adds another layer of support, and while past boots have caused discomfort, these remained comfortable throughout.

The soft bootie and tongue make the shoe easy to slip on and off, with a convenient pull loop reducing the need for a shoehorn. As a GORE-TEX shoe, balancing waterproofing and breathability is always a challenge. While my feet did get a bit warm, I expected this, as the shoe prioritizes keeping feet warm and dry—which it achieved flawlessly.

Performance: 5/5

Underfoot, the sole is not only comfortable but also provides excellent energy return, while still feeling solid when pressure is applied. Though the heel appears narrow, the six-spike placement ensures a secure grip on the turf, complemented by a low-to-the-ground Zoom Air unit.

Nike has cleverly designed the sole to offer traction in key areas, with TPU molds in the heel and toe that enhance grip both during the swing and while walking the fairways. The shoe provides plenty of flexibility without sacrificing security, striking a rare balance for winter footwear.

Despite being built for harsh conditions, the shoe remains remarkably lightweight. It feels natural on the foot, which is rare for a winter golf shoe. As for waterproofing, these shoes perform exceptionally well. Of course, if you step into ankle-deep water, they’ll eventually let some moisture in, but I did my best to test them—jumping into puddles and flooded bunkers—yet my feet remained dry.

Durability: 5/5

After multiple rounds, the shoe has held up impressively well in wet conditions, proving to be one of the best-performing wet-weather shoes I’ve worn. Nike’s high-quality materials shine here, delivering durability that meets expectations.

The molded spikes provide excellent traction and withstand firm surfaces, I could tell the TPU outsole is built to last. GORE-TEX continues to set the standard for waterproofing, and in this shoe, it excels.

Cleaning the shoe was effortless, with no issues regarding material wear or unexpected rubbing. Perhaps the highest praise I can give is that I plan to continue wearing them throughout the winter and beyond.

Style and Design: 5/5

The shoe has a modern, sleek look that feels more like a large trainer than a traditional winter golf boot. The colorway I tested—turquoise and pink—was refreshing, especially in contrast to the typical black winter golf shoes. While I personally would have preferred the all-black option, I appreciated the bold design that stood out from the norm.

The aesthetics are in line with Nike’s running collection, making it one of the most visually appealing golf shoes available. My playing partners even joked that I looked ready for a run rather than a round of golf—an observation I found fair!

This shoe will appeal to a broad range of golfers. While the bright colorway might not be for everyone, the all-black version should have wider appeal. The design follows Nike’s trend of creating golf shoes that resemble stylish cleats rather than traditional golf footwear, a direction I personally enjoy.

Technology and Features: 5/5

Nike has packed this shoe with high-performance technology, including Air Zoom and GORE-TEX for weatherproofing. The fixed molded spikes provide excellent traction, and despite being non-replaceable, they remain in pristine condition even after multiple rounds. Given that these shoes are designed for soft turf, durability shouldn’t be an issue.

The mid-bootie style blends the best of both worlds—offering a shoe’s ease with the boot’s protection. The high-heel design prevents slipping, while the pull loop ensures effortless wearability. This combination of features makes the shoe not only functional but also a standout performer in winter conditions.

Overall: 19/20

I have to say that the Nike Infinity Tour 2 GORE-TEX is just an outstanding winter golf shoe. It combines comfort, performance, and durability in a sleek, modern design. Much like Nike’s renowned running shoes, the Infinity Tour 2 ensuring a smooth walking experience while maintaining stability during the swing. The GORE-TEX waterproofing works exceptionally well, keeping feet dry even in wet and muddy conditions, while the molded spikes provide solid traction on soft turf.

Despite its weather-resistant build, the shoe remains lightweight and flexible, offering a rare combination of security and comfort. Yes, the design is bold but it helps you stand out in a unique way on the course. With options to suit different tastes and a mid-bootie construction that makes it easy to put on and take off, whether you’re looking for a reliable shoe to tackle winter golf or simply want a high-performance option that excels in wet conditions, this shoe is a top-tier choice.
