What we say...

Testing Nike’s modern and stylish golf shoes that are fit for a Major Champion

Whenever you think about the best golf shoes a Nike model inevitably pops into your mind. From the Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour 3 currently worn by Rory McIlroy to the iconic Nike Tiger Woods TW 13, Nike have a pair of golf shoes every golfer can happily stroll the fairways in. Including the Nike Infity Tour 2 golf shoes Brooks Koepka elects to wear.

I’m a massive fan of Nike golf shoes and I couldn’t wait to literally put the Infity Tour 2 Golf Shoes through their paces and see how they faired around my home course – Cleveland Golf Club. We’ve had some really mixed weather in the North East of England over the past couple of months, so I’ve been able to test these spiked golf shoes in multiple conditions – from the firm links you may be accustomed to, to soft and squelchy ground. Here’s my comprehensive review of the Nike Infity Tour 2 Golf Shoes…

A modern pair of spiked golf shoes that are built to provide support, comfort, and style.

Nike Infinity Tour 2 Golf Shoes: Sizing, looks and out-of-the-box comfort

The first time I slipped on the Nike Infinity Tour 2 golf shoes I have to admit I was slightly disappointed because they weren’t instantly as comfortable as other Nike golf shoes I own. Most notably they didn’t have as much “out of the box comfort” as the Nike Victory Pro 3 golf shoes. However, I was delighted to discover the more holes I played the comfier the shoes became.

At first, I feared whether I’d misjudged the sizing of the Infinity Tour 2’s, but having owned the previous model and other Nike golf shoes in the same size I was sure they would start to feel as good as my other Nike golf shoes – and they did.

I’m not sure whether it’s sensible to base your sizing selection on my advice here, but I’ll provide you with it anyway. I normally wear either a UK 9 / US 10 or a UK 9.5 / US 10.5. However, in Nike, for some reason, I wear a UK 10 / US 11 (I’m not sure why). I have a very shallow foot, and certain brands like Footjoy and Puma typically aren’t as comfortable as Nike’s. Finding the perfect fit from a pair of golf shoes can be difficult, but if you read through our golf shoes buying guide it will help you in your search.

I absolutely love the style and aesthetics of the Nike Infinity Tour 2’s. The colorway I was sent is the ‘Barely Green/White/Green Strike/Black’. It’s a pale green that, in certain lights, looks more white than green, with a darker and more vivid green Nike tick and toe wrap. The sole is white with bright green spikes and a multicolored Air Zoom unit. This color scheme won’t be to everyone’s liking and it definitely isn’t a colorway I would opt for but it doesn’t alter my opinion of the shoe and it is nice to have a little pop of color on your feet.

If you prefer, you can purchase these shoes in a ‘White/Vapour Green/Pure Platinum/Black’ (the green is almost non-existent), ‘Football Grey/Game Royal/Photo Blue/Deep Royal Blue’ (similar to the green colorway – but in blue), or ‘Black/Vapor Green/Iron Grey/White’ (again the green is practically invisible). The last two color options listed are only available in the US.

Nike Infinity Tour 2 Golf Shoes: On-course performance

The comfort and stability exhibited in the Nike Infinity Tour 2 golf shoes comes from the cushioned insole and Air Zoom Unit which has been positioned lower to the ground than in the previous model. The Air Zoom Unit provides outstanding stability thanks to additional softspikes that have been strategically placed for improved energy return while you’re walking from hole to hole and playing your shots.

The six softspikes have been specifically positioned on the sole of the Nike Infinity 2 Tour golf shoes to provide ample grip and traction. Playing on a links golf course in the North East of England, I have been able to test these golf shoes on hard and soft ground. On the couple of occasions when I’ve worn these golf shoes in dry conditions the softspikes haven’t hindered comfort and I definitely haven’t come off the golf course wishing I was wearing a pair of the best spikeless golf shoes. In wet conditions, and when the ground is holding water, the softspikes are more than capable of ensuring you don’t slip or lose your footing.

Support is absolutely vital from a pair of golf shoes and the Nike Infinity Tour 2 golf shoes provide all the support you’ll need on the golf course. Considering these golf shoes felt slightly too big when I first put them on, they felt extremely supportive from the get-go due to the updated midsole foam, padded collar, and internal fit pods.

Nike Infinity Tour 2 Golf Shoes: Waterproofing

The Nike Infinity Tour 2’s are fully waterproof and Nike are so confident of the waterproof protection in these golf shoes that they’re offering a two-year waterproof warranty instead of the standard one-year. The Nike Flyweave construction provides ultimate protection from any water, whether you’re caught in a massive shower or if you’re playing early and kicking up the morning dew.

Nike Infinity Tour 2 Golf Shoes: Cleaning

Depending on which color you opt for, you’ll probably have a different opinion of how well the Nike Infinity Tour 2’s clean up. Owning a light-colored pair of these golf shoes I would say that they don’t clean up super easily but they aren’t the worst pair of golf shoes I’ve ever owned for keeping fresh.

Grass and dirt can stick to the Flyweave upper, but it can be removed with a damp cloth or baby wipes. All of the stains might not come out if you leave them to set in but you should be able to get the majority of muck off the Nike Infinity Tour 2’s if you show them a little bit of love from time to time.

The sole is slightly harder to keep clean on this new model compared to the previous model because the number have softspikes has increased by 50%. The softspikes do give while you’re cleaning the sole but it can be a fiddly task if they’re caked in mud.

Nike Infinity Tour 2 Golf Shoes: Final Verdict

The Nike Infinity Tour 2 golf shoes easily rival the best spiked golf shoes and the best waterproof golf shoes, as well as the best Nike golf shoes. They offer fantastic value all things considered. However, there are a couple of other Nike golf shoes to consider should you wish to opt for a slightly cheaper pair or those worn by Rory McIlroy.
