What we say...

First Wear October 2012

The popularity of spikeless shoes keeps growing and market-leader FootJoy’s latest offerings are likely to convert even more to the trend.

The Contour Casuals impressed in terms of looks – they’re a little less showy than the Sport Spikeless, but the look is very much ‘on-trend’.

I’ve worn these for a few rounds, and while they undoubtedly offer a stable platform in dry conditions, the familiar concern with spikeless shoes is how they would perform in really bad weather. I can’t report any slips, but I’d suggest these, like most shoes of a similar nature, are best suited to drier conditions.

There is a huge upside to the Contour Casuals though – versatility. I’ve worn mine to work, the pub, golf, the clubhouse and to the driving range – where they are a sensation. The high levels of comfort mean you can stand and hit balls for hours should you wish, and you can’t say that for some of the more traditional shoes.

The price may seem a little steep at first glance but, as with all FootJoy shoes, you can be confident that they
will last and perform very well.

FootJoy have re-entered the spikeless shoe market by improving their best-selling Contour Casual model to offer a shoe that fuses casual leisure styling with the ultimate in comfort and flexibility for use both on and off the course.

The original Contour Casual was only launched in May this year, but it almost created a new market overnight, with stocks selling out in record fashion.

The new 2013 Contour Casual range will incorporate a completely new upper pattern design that is highlighted by a colourful saddle option and plain toe blucher. Available in a variety of fashionable colour options, this lightweight shoe has been crafted from full grain leather to deliver excellent support, fit and durability.

In-shoe technology includes a Contoured Platform for superior support, super soft Athletic Mesh linings for added touch and feel comfort and a flexible contoured lightweight PU Fit-Bed that provides additional cushioning.

Outsole technology is highlighted by an EVA midsole that delivers soft cushioning and a Spikeless DuraMax rubber outsole that is durable, flexible and provides comfort and excellent traction.

Colours: Black with taupe accent; taupe; coffee; white with steel blue and a light grey trim and white with orange and a light grey trim.
