What we say...
Lee Westwood is among the Ping Tour staff using the Tour-W, and he won with it at the British Masters. But the beauty of this wedge is that it will appeal to a wide range of players, from scratch to higher handicappers. That’s thanks to the slightly larger clubhead size, which inspires confidence but doesn’t look cumbersome. A tungsten weight in the toe increases forgiveness, making it really easy to use for all sorts of shot. The brushed-silver chrome finish looks classy and doesn’t glare in sunlight. The only surprise was that the spin rate readings were not higher.
The Ping Tour W might well have pushed for a Gold award had our team of testers rated the look of the club a little more favourably. Comments such as “clunky” and “beefy” were common, but as soon as the Tour W was asked to perform… it did just that. Designed for better players and game improvers alike, it duly got the thumbs up from our quartet of varying standards. Chris found it hard to hit a poor shot with the club, while both he and Jon were impressed with its ease-of-use out of sand. Aside from the looks, Dan was the only one to suggest that he felt it lacked a little bit of control on full shots.

The Ping Tour-W wedge is designed for golfers seeking a high-performing, versatile option around the green and from the sand. Its machined face and grooves combine with a compact, teardrop head shape to improve control from any lie.
A tungsten toe weight and small custom-tuning port increase the moment of inertia for forgiveness while enhancing club head feel. Multiple loft/bounce combinations, including three Thin Sole (TS) options, allow you to match a Tour-W wedge to your game and playing conditions.
Tour-W wedges can be further customised by Ping's Wrx division to your exact loft, lie and grind requirements, ensuring that you'll have the right club in your hands for any shot you need to play.

This 52 degree Ping Tour wedge was bought as a replacement to my Titliest Vokey and it lives up to most the reviews I had read before testing it. The review I cant agree with is that it looks clunky as I loved its lines. Now I have played a few rounds with it I can state that the feel off the face was excellent, providing check and control around the greens whilst the full pitches stopped on a sixpence, I even managed some serious munch on a number of occasions. Fabulous club.

I got the 56/14 and the 60/10 with a set of g10 irons and these are amazing. So soft and generate amazing levels of spin even out the rough. I've had mine over a year and haven't seen the face peeling Aolex has seen so I would just put that down to a faulty batch. I would suggest the wedges to anybody and can't understand TGs preference for vokey wedges every test when I have found half the wedge market to be better.

I have two of these beauties - a 58/10 and a 54/10. I was custom fitted at Ping Gainsborough so have 1/2" longer than standard and upright lie. I don't know whether its the custom fitting or the clubs but these have sooo much more control and spin than the Cleveland 588's (53 & 57) that they have replaced. Unlike TG, I don't find them in the least 'clunky' to look down on - they just fill me with confidence and as such I've been peppering the pin with my chips and pitches and hitting the greens easily with my full shots. Shots generally bounce once and then check. The finish on them is beautiful (I have the brushed silver chrome) and when you combine the performance with Ping's legendary customer service I can make only one recommendation - get these!!!

I work in a pro-shop in kent and when these first came into store i was reluctant to try them out because im not a ping fan, but after trying them out on the range i fell in love there very soft off the face, and the workability is great. BUT!!!! we have a quite a few come back to us where the metal in the corner of the toe has started to come away from the face of the club, it is under the warrenty by ping but its a huge annoyance when more than half the people had only played 4 or 5 rounds with them. i would rate them a 5/5 but with the fear of getting a club where the metal comes away from the face that to me is a poor flaw in this other wise beautiful club

These are very easy to use, beatifully weighted wedges that provide plenty of spin around the greens. They are visually superb & a great addition to anyones bag. Well recommended!!
