“Without doubt, my best on test,” was Tony’s appraisal – and the others agreed it was right up there.

Jon and Chris noted how easy it was to use on a wide range of shots while Tom was a massive fan of the overall performance of the VR, including its finish.

He also liked the “powerful but controllable” ball flight. The only area where the VR didn’t shine was in terms of carry but, as we’ve mentioned before, distance shouldn’t be a primary concern with wedge play.
