Mizuno T7 Wedge Review: You should know
The first Mizuno wedge to use boron in the mix, and they reckon for the T7s it makes the grooves more durable so you get sharper performance for longer. Everything about the T7s is graduated so there’s loft specific grooves to maximise spin from wherever you’re playing, along with more rounded leading and top edges on the higher lofts that graduate down to straighter lines in the lofts closest to your pitching wedge.
Mizuno T7 Wedge Review: We say
Wedges like putters are personal bits of kit. So you’ll need to make up your own mind if you’re a fan of the T7’s high toe, low heel teardrop head shape or not. For two of our three testers it wasn’t their favourite. The heads a bit smaller, it’s got a classy glare eliminating satin finish and its leading edge sits nice and tight to the turf, which increased confidence over larger rounder alternatives. The T7 didn’t quite break through the magic 10K spin ceiling for any full shot, it did though come very close which for us says it’s a good all-round blend of strong solid performance, decent looks and masses of options. We preferred the white satin finish over the blue IP, partly because of the colour but also because we felt its finish would better stand the test of time.
Mizuno T7 Wedge Review: Verdict
The T7 didn’t come out right at the very top of the tree for spin, but it was right in and amongst the premium pack. For us the attractiveness lies in the options the T7’s available in. Plenty of loft options mean you can fill loft gaps really easily and because there’s an option on shafts at no extra cost you can also tailor performance and feel to your irons.
